We are looking for an Application Engineer who will be responsible for the research, engineering, and release of new aftermarket catalytic converters and related hardware for industry leading national brands.

Research vehicle applications for inclusion in emission certification programs.
Engineer replacement catalytic converter assemblies using established standards and guidelines to meet product and manufacturing requirements. Identify opportunities for common and consolidation of components and assemblies.
Provide direction to CAD specialists and prototype department as necessary to design and validate new parts.
Collaborate with Catalog Specialists to assemble detailed vehicle application information on new parts for emission certification documents and application catalogs.
Assemble release packages. Manage and track assigned new parts through release process to customer launch.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state regulations relating to the sale and installation of aftermarket converters and related parts.
Conduct competitive analysis of established parts to determine strength and weaknesses.
Investigate and respond to engineering change request from manufacturing and suppliers.
Investigate and resolve customer complaints relative to application, fit or function.
Support product development team as necessary to achieve department goals for new product launches and cost reduction initiatives.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Automotive Aftermarket experience preferred.
Knowledge of Automotive Aftermarket, emission testing, and metal forming processes and methods.
Knowledge of US vehicle makes and models and working knowledge of PC based engineering applications.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Strong attention to detail.
