Position Overview

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Support customers, customer service representatives, field representatives, agents, and Hubbell subsidiaries by providing technical support and sustaining their efforts in promoting/selling Hubbell Utility Automation products.

Prepare pricing and technical data for quotations. Provide liaison and coordination between engineering, manufacturing, and sales.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support for questions pertaining to assigned products to end users, channel partners, sales, and customer service for domestic and international markets.

  • Assists engineering with voice of customer information and market requirements for design and testing of products.

  • Providing pricing, class code, and product information (drawings, test reports, etc.) for quotations to customer service representatives, field sales, agents, and/or Hubbell subsidiaries and directly to customers when necessary and required

  • Provide training and select technical information to customer service representatives, field representatives, agents, and/or Hubbell subsidiaries and directly to customers for quotations or when necessary and required

  • Resolve product returns; i.e., request credit/debits, write evaluations on damaged return material

  • Assist in preparation of technical publications and review technical information and illustrations

  • Review customer product specifications and maintain up-to-date file in customer files

  • Aid in organization and presentation of material for seminars, industry meetings, and trade shows

  • Provide recommendations on application products using calculations, software, drawings, testimonials, and industry-accepted standards to support recommendation

  • Ability to travel (up to 25%) on business related trips; ability to move to various locations within the Company

Skills and Experience

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in an Application Engineering (or) Sales (or) Customer Facing role preferred

  • Experience in Power System Utility Industry preferred

  • Experience with Medium Voltage Switchgear preferred

  • Experience with SAP and MS Office software preferred

Education

Bachelors Degree in Engineering General or Electrical Engineering

Posting Address 353 Powerville Rd Boonton, NJ 07005 Position Overview The individual must be capable of implementing new designs of electronic circuit boards (ECB) from R&D output through the entire manufacturing process. Project responsibilities includes ECB review, fixturing design, equipment selection, machine setup, and design of board verification. This individual must be able to work in a cross functional group with R&D Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, other Test Engineers, Production Assemblers and Technicians. Candidate must adapt quickly to workmanship standards and process control to deliver high quality circuit boards through Manufacturing. Duties and Responsibilities * Analyzes new designs and recommends circuit and firmware enhancements for manufacturability and testability. * Setup and support of manufacturing equipment. This includes editing CAD files and configuring automatic placement machines, automatic soldering machines, inspection machines, and testing verification machines. * Leads or supports the design of fixturing throughout the manufacturing process and manages the construction of the fixture, including electronic circuit design and mechanical layout where needed. * Develops and implements plans to reduce cycle times and increase product integrity. * Leads or supports the design of automated tests & diagnostics. This includes working with R&D Engineering and other Test Engineers to achieve an adequate level of testability, and subsequently developing test fixtures and diagnostics electronic circuit boards. * Develops test plans for all new modules and systems.
