Application Development Senior Manager (Multiple Positions)

Responsibilities:

Application Development Senior Manager (Multiple Positions) (Accenture LLP; Boston, MA): Manage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope. Develop or update project plans for information technology projects, including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, schedules, funding, and staffing.

Develop, design, and maintain software products or systems to support client strategies. Analyze, design, build, and test new components or enhancements to existing modules. Develop system specifications and interfaces for complex components.

Create operational documentation for applications. Maintain applications according to SLAs. Develop testing plans.

Work across the Service Delivery Lifecycle on engineering solutions for new system roll outs, major/minor enhancements, and/or ongoing maintenance of existing applications. Provide solutions to complex business problems, which are then implemented by the team. Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.

Manage large teams and/or work efforts. Conduct project and issue management (status reporting, issue reporting, ETC/budget reporting) for assigned scope of work. Participate in setting strategic direction to establish near-term goals for area of responsibility.

Interact with client and/or Accenture senior management, which involves negotiating or influencing significant project matters. Have latitude in decision-making and determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.

This Health Informatics Application Specialist will be responsible for: * Providing direct computational support to researchers that are advancing the science of biomedical informatics for molecular characterization of the patient, gene discovery, medical decision making, diagnosis, therapeutic selection, care redesign, public health management, population health, and re-imagined clinical trials . * Coordinating the full spectrum of infrastructure and computing projects, including management of workstations, cloud services, and complex research computing platforms. * Supporting research development of medical applications for machine learning/AI including clinical decision support and predictive medicine, genomic medicine, re-imagined clinical trials, real-world evidence, visualization of big data, integrative omics, SMART on FHIR apps and infrastructure, i2b2/tranSMART and image/voice/video analysis. * Guiding researchers with the use of software and workflows. * Developing and promoting the use of tools, workflows, pipelines and computing resources. In order to qualify you must have: * Master's degree or higher in STEM, or a closely related field, and at least four years' experience in a research environment or Ph.D. in computer science, data science, health informatics, computational biology, or related, with 2+ years of work experience post-PhD; or similar. * Previous experience providing user support in a research environment. * Proficiency with at least one scripting language and SQL required; experience with deep learning, cloud computing and/or statistics would be a bonus. * Knowledge of scripting and/or programming languages and familiarity with current software development best practices. * Fluency in Linux, OS X, and Windows operating systems. * A combination of patience, determination, and persistence to troubleshoot technical issues. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * A positive attitude and ability to develop productive relationships with pediatric researchers. * Passion for new technologies and science.
