Application Development Manager

Remedy is thrilled to be working with a local food manufacturer with an urgent need for an Application Development Manager (IT).

The Application Development Manager role is a hands-on position to manage a team of developers in the technical design, development, implementation, and support of business applications. The Application Development Manager is responsible for managing the daily work of developers as well as implementing Agile software development practices and works closely with other Information Technology team members to identify and deliver solutions that drive significant value to the organization. This position continues to evaluate existing applications to determine technical changes, schedule resources and monitor project timelines. The Application Development Manager also sets and implements policies and procedures related to application quality standards and testing, ensuring consistent and reliable deliverables.

Job Title: Application Development Manager (IT) (Direct Hire)

Job Type: Full Time / Permanent / Direct Hire

Location: Syracuse, NY

Shift: 1st Shift / 8am – 5pm / Monday – Friday

Pay: $90-120K annually

Essential job duties for this role will include:

• Mentor and develop the IT Application Development team’s staff
• Perform all introductory and annual performance reviews for all direct reports and will interview potential candidates for new positions or replacement positions
• Design, develop and implement applications and application enhancements that drive value for our business
• Perform architecture and code reviews; ensuring deployment readiness
• Supports and recommends enhancements to the Microsoft Dynamics GP ERP System Modules that are implemented, while sharing knowledge internally with the rest of IT department and the user community
• Support an enhance additional software applications used by the organization such as Highjump/Korber WMS and vSync/TrueCommerce EDI solutions
• Work with stakeholders to define business requirements for new initiatives
• Delivers project assignments on time, with documentation and training materials
• Establish and maintain documentation procedures for the Development team
• Resource developers against the Information Technology department backlog
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors and consultants
• Participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
• Resolves problems as needed to ensure that customers receive prompt, efficient service in accordance with the IT Solution Center Process
• Assess technical skills, identify training needs and opportunities, and ensure that required materials and tools are available for direct reports to perform their job responsibilities
• Provide off-hours support on a rotating basis as needed

We’re looking for an Application Development Manager (IT) with the following background profile/skillset:

• 5+ years of Dynamics GP project experience preferably working as a development lead for at least one global/complex deployment
• 5+ years as a senior developer working with large development projects. Dynamics GP Administration and Configuration preferred
• 5+ years working with an object oriented development language (e.g. VB.NET, .NET framework)
• 5+ years working with MS SQL Server and working knowledge of database design and SQL (Query Language)
• 2+ year with SSRS
• Experience with SSAS and PowerBI preferred
• Have experience in estimating development effort
• Strong understanding of the Manufacturing processing lifecycle
• Proficient understanding of SDLC processes or ITIL
• Working knowledge of Microsoft platform skills
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced business environment
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, a related field, or equivalent experience preferred
