Application Development

This is a January August or June - December Coop position or a May August Internship in St. Louis, MO.

The intern or coop will participate in meaningful work activities related to development, maintenance & support and enhancements to our application / software solutions. Intern/Coops are assigned a mentor that will guide you through your work experience at Ameren. Coaching and feedback are a key part of your intern/coop experience. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented, experienced IT staff while completing your work assignments. You will get exposure to the following technologies:

  • Programming & scripting languages (e.g. .NET, SQL, Java, C#, typescript, Java script, HTML, CSS, MVC, Angular, PowerShell and more)

  • Relational Database Management: Oracle, SQL Server

  • Tools: SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Visual Studio, VS Code, Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Splunk

  • Process: Agile, Scrum, Kanban

Mobile Development

This is a January August Coop position in St. Louis, MO.

Coops will participate in meaningful work activities related to development, maintenance & support and enhancements to our application / software solutions. Coops are assigned a mentor that will guide you through your assignments. Coaching and feedback are a key part of your Coop experience. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented, experienced IT staff while completing your work assignments. You will get exposure to the following technologies and methodologies:

  • Native and Hybrid mobile development

  • Agile and Scrum Methodologies

  • Programming & scripting languages (e.g. Typescript, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Swift and more)

  • REST API design and coding

  • Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery pipeline for automated builds and deploys

  • Microsoft Office 365 application suite

The intern/coop program provides students with valuable work experience as well as providing Ameren with a source of highly talented candidates for full time positions.

Qualifications

Current student status pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or equivalent computer-related field from an accredited college or university required. A GPA of 2.5 or above

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to:

  • Proficient in programming - at least 2 classes in modern software/application programming preferred

  • Good analytical and human relations skills

  • Experience with organizing and analyzing large quantities of data

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Leadership experience inside and/or outside the classroom

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate clearly

  • Demonstrated creative problem solving and proactive learning

  • Experience with data analytics software and visualization tools preferred

Responsibilities for this role include: * Apply Site Security controls through performance of compliance assessment reviews and self-inspections to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations/requirements. * Identify pertinent deficiencies and recommend or facilitate corrective action. * Provide oversight of local Video Security System scope and application, to ensure necessary coverage is achieved as regards all applicable regulations. Performs Physical Security duties and responsibilities within Boeing facilities (e.g., complete Government approvals for classified areas - Fixed Facility Checklists and DSS 147 Forms/inspections of DoD Closed Areas/Maintain DoD Closed Area inspection database/survey classified areas/review and approve facility drawings for new construction or remodeled classified areas and document physical security construction requirements) to ensure compliance with company and government regulations/requirements. * Participate in and/or conduct meetings and coordinate with Site Services and outside contractors on physical security construction requirements. * Assist less experienced personnel with Site Security and classified area inspections, when necessary. * Assist Government Security personnel performing Administrative Inquiries to determine level and scope of noncompliance with pertinent regulations/requirements. * Coordinate with associates and vendors on troubleshooting of various access control issues to identify root causes, for correction. Additional responsibilities include: * Assist and perform as required with Arm Ammunition & Explosive and Protected Distribution Systems. * Provide oversight necessary for proper maintenance of AMS (unclassified) access control systems, to include verification of clearances for classified areas. * Provide oversight and coordination of all new card reader installations for the AMS access control systems, as may be required. * Participate on enterprise Integrated Product Team (IPT) sub or task teams, when necessary. * Oversees the design, development and implementation of information protection programs, processes and procedures for the protection of company people, property, information and interests. * Guides the development of information protection policies and strategic, tactical and operational planning activities for information protection program sustainability. * Communicates with site security managers, Ethics, Law Department and local and federal agencies, regarding investigation results. * Defines task to be performed at plant sites within established protocols and guidelines. Assists in training less experienced personnel.
