Title: Application Developer

Locations: Atlanta, Georgia.

Duration: 8 months

C2C and STEM-OPT are not available

Only U.S. Citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S. can be considered as W2 candidates.SUMMARY:

The Individual will be self-motivated, demonstrate a constant commitment to excellence and have experience in the design, development, and unit testing of .NET applications and web services. Experience with MVC and Angular 2/4/5 is a must.


  • Work with the team to analyze, design, develop, deploy, and support web applications to meet business and technical requirements

  • Enhance our existing development base on C#, ASP.Net, .Net core, MVC, Angular 2/4/5, JQuery/JQueryUI, Web API, Web services, LINQ and Entity Framework, HTML5/CSS, OOD & Design Patterns, Unit Testing Frameworks, SQL Server, and Oracle

  • Knowledge of database modeling and data structure principles, techniques and best practices

  • Need to write complex SQL queries and develop Stored Procedures and functions in SQL Server and Oracle environment.

  • Perform code reviews and do unit testing.

  • Able to work independently with minimal consultation from Architect/Lead.

  • Working Experience in Data Visualization tools such as Power BI would be good.

  • Working experience with Source Control Management tools such as; Team Foundation Server (TFS)

  • Will be Responsible for the maintenance of existing applications

  • Experience with Agile development practices and Scrum methodology


Required Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science or related area of study

  • At least 7 years of experience developing applications in .NET environment of which atleast 2 years in Angular

  • Technical skills must include C#, ASP.Net, .Net core, MVC, Angular 2/4/5, JQuery/JQueryUI, Web API, Web services, LINQ and Entity Framework, HTML5/CSS, OOD & Design Patterns, Unit Testing Frameworks, SQL Server, and Oracle

  • Experience with Agile development practices and Scrum methodology

  • Candidates should have good oral and written communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience building portal
  • MCP certification in .NET framework

This position will work with teams of software developers that analyze, estimate, design, code, test, and support applications and enterprise integrations that address business requirements. The developer will assist the teams through the application life cycle for new solutions, enhancements to existing solutions, and the integration of these solutions into the current Southern Company environment. The position is also expected to aggressively manage development effort costs through careful project estimation practices. The developer/architect should demonstrate a high level of technical proficiency in the area of enterprise software development. The position is also expected to ensure all software development projects adhere to Southern Company's Application Development guidelines and meets and/or exceeds quality expectations. The developer/architect should be an excellent troubleshooter and a self-starter. The developer/architect will participate in application sessions and setting development standards at Southern Company. We are actively looking at new technologies. We need talent that has a passion for learning and the ability to apply new technology at an enterprise level. Education / Experience * Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college with a concentration in computer science or a related field * Working knowledge and understanding of development technologies, methodologies and associated tools * Experience developing and supporting enterprise applications and integrations, this includes full stack development (Angular, Bootstrap, .Net) * Experience with AGILE/Scrum software development model * Experience with application architecture Job Responsibilities * Develop and/or implement timely, cost effective, and high quality business solutions to meet customer needs, using approved methodologies and standards * Provide root cause analysis, efficient production support and maintenance / enhancements for existing applications * Build and maintain relationships with peers, staff, management, other IT groups, and vendors * Apply strong oral and written communication skills; apply strong customer service and negotiating skills; exhibit initiative; follow through with customer commitments; and apply sound performance techniques * Support project planning by providing accurate estimates and status reports and by meeting deliverables * Manage personal career development by maintaining technical expertise and developing Southern Style Leadership characteristics * Participate in special projects/assignments. This will include new technology evaluations, POC's, standards discussions, and architecture design sessions.
