Application Developer II

Location: Kalispell, Montana, Overland Park, or Remote

We are seeking a highly motivated and responsible Application Developer II to join our team to assist with key development initiatives that have a direct impact on ensuring our systems are compliant per NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program) regulation. You will be an integral part of an innovative and passionate team where your ideas will flourish, and you will influence the design and implementation of our systems.

  • The Product Development team consists of application developers and quality assurance analysts, many whom have been with the organization for a number of years. We also have a several colleagues who have been with Torrent for 1+ years. We have a great cross section of professionals who are very experienced in software development. Our team is fun and we just get things done.

  • We utilize "just in time" training which means you will have a number of colleagues teaching and training. Our system was developed from the FEMA requirements, which means there is access to a number of on-line publications to aid with training. We also use Workday which provides a number of topics to grow career.

  • Each year, we craft professional goals for each colleague to promote learning and career growth. We have a process for follow-up on goals and we have a timely process for feedback and 1:1 meetings to support our colleagues.

We will count on you to:

  • Developing custom solutions to support and enhance Torrent's flood insurance solution software.

  • They are required to have solid knowledge on Industry standards and patterns in a Microsoft development environment.

  • implementing business logic from regularly changing business requirements using Agile methodologies.

  • Responsible for coding, testing and debugging web applications and meeting project timelines under guidance from senior software developers

  • Work within a cross functional team to design and develop enhancements/modifications using Microsoft software technologies

  • Active participation in technical design and review

  • Modify existing source code according to requirements defined by the Product Owner and creates unit tests as needed

  • ntegrate technical enhancements into an existing web application

  • Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and develops solutions to resolve them

  • Resolve customer issues with software by fixing the code and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.

  • Accurately estimate work efforts and requirements

  • Superior communicator with a strong work ethic and a commitment to teamwork

  • Provide analysis of problems and recommend/implement solutions

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with on time delivery

  • Enforce coding standards and participates in peer code reviews

We would like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent is desired

  • 2-4 years related experience

  • Solid implementation experience of object-oriented concepts including OOP design patterns

  • Exceptional system analysis and debugging skills

  • Strong commitment to building in quality during coding phase by testing using all types of Software Testing Methodologies

  • Concrete understanding of developing and maintaining unit tests

  • Familiar with Agile software development methodologies

Technology Stack

  • Microsoft Technologies : C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, MVC, TFS, Visual Studio

  • Database Technologies: SQL, MS SQL Server, Relational Databases

  • Web Technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON

  • Others: Web Services, SOAP, Postman, nUnit, etc.

What makes you ideal for the role- but is not required:

  • Familiar with Razor Pages in ASP.NET Core

  • Insurance domain knowledge preferred

Assists in determining root cause analysis.. 6.Leads the Managed Build process for assemblies/modules. 7.Provides technical support and training to Applied and contract manufacturing resources, including piece part suppliers related to assemblies/modules. 8.May perform other duties as assigned.
