The Head of Technology IMS West role is to provide leadership for defining and implementing technology support and services for IMS West key clients. She/He directs the planning, prioritization, and implementation of IMS West Client technology strategy and operations in order to improve cost effectiveness, service quality, and operational efficiency. This individual is responsible to IMS and GTS leadership to ensure continuity and alignment between client specific and STT's GTS efforts.

Strategy & Planning

  • Participate in strategic technology operational governance processes of IMS as well as GTS.

  • Represent IT strategic and operational planning to achieve IMS West and GTS goals by fostering collaboration, prioritizing IT initiatives in support of IMS West, and coordinating the deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the region.

  • Establish and align on joint operations and technology goals, objectives, and operating procedures in support of IMS strategy.

  • Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and operational procedures.

  • Manage, assess and communicate risks associated with IMS West and GTS change activities in conjunction with technology and delivery BCEs

  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IMS West spending and initiatives.

Development, Acquisition & Deployment

  • Coordinate and facilitate consultation with IMS West and GTS stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.

  • Approve, prioritize, and manage projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the implementation of major business or information systems initiatives.

Operational Management

  • Monitor and ensure continuous delivery of quality IT services through oversight of service level agreements with IMS West.

  • Ensure operational and data management practices within IMS West adhere to applicable laws and regulations.

  • Keep current with investments and research within GTS, including Omnia and Front-to-Back technologies. Advise, counsel, and educate executives and management on their competitive or financial impact.

  • Adhere to the delegation and oversight (management information and escalation) framework in the performance of daily tasks. This includes taking proactive action to ensure there is adequate production of management information that is fits for purpose, and issues are raised as appropriate

  • Establish and monitor an effective delegation framework to ensure that tasks are performed by staff members with appropriate capacity and authority level (based on knowledge, skills and competence).

  • Establish and monitor an effective oversight framework to ensure that issues are appropriately identified, escalated and resolved. This includes: a) ensuring that appropriate management information is received, considered and challenged as appropriate at intervals proportionate to the risks; and b) that staff members have clear understanding of the escalation path/principles

  • Establish and nurture a culture of 'Risk Excellence' within the team, encourage an environment of openness that welcomes effective challenge and supports open discussion.

  • Ensure that you make reasonable decisions by exercising reasonable care when considering information available to you. This includes taking proactive action to ensure that the information you have is suitable and adequate.

  • Establish and nurture a culture of individual ownership of tasks to embed a clear individual sense of accountability into staff members' behavior in performing their roles.

You will be part of a small team tasked with developing automation for building design and construction. Required Qualifications: * 3-5 years of MEP engineering experience required. * Demonstrated and recent direct experience with the process, workflow and use of Autodesk Revit MEP and analysis software from conceptual design through construction. * Experience with Revit API or willingness to learn quickly under project constraints (ideally +/- 1 years of application development experience using the Revit API) * Experience working with BIM elements, geometry, symbols, and core API objects in Revit. * Willingness to learn Dynamo or other integrated programming environments to implement algorithms. * Familiarity with basic Revit usage (parametric modeling, families, levels). * Proficiency in C#/Python. * Strong understanding of object-oriented programming. * Desire to learn and be exposed to web development. Web development experience a plus but not necessary. * Experience with web technologies ASP.NET core, MVC architecture, REST APIs Education Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related industry. * Professional registration (P.E., etc.) and industry accreditation (LEED AP, etc.) preferred. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: * Implement solutions in .net environment using Python or C#. * Use the Revit SDK to develop addins. * Revit family manipulation and development. * Generate 3D models according to the needs of the modelling software. * Integrate with third party libraries and tools, including Rhino, using Revit APIs. * Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code. * Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. * Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address those issues. * Help maintain code quality and organization.
