The Head of Technology IMS West role is to provide leadership for defining and implementing technology support and services for IMS West key clients. She/He directs the planning, prioritization, and implementation of IMS West Client technology strategy and operations in order to improve cost effectiveness, service quality, and operational efficiency. This individual is responsible to IMS and GTS leadership to ensure continuity and alignment between client specific and STT's GTS efforts.
Strategy & Planning
Participate in strategic technology operational governance processes of IMS as well as GTS.
Represent IT strategic and operational planning to achieve IMS West and GTS goals by fostering collaboration, prioritizing IT initiatives in support of IMS West, and coordinating the deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the region.
Establish and align on joint operations and technology goals, objectives, and operating procedures in support of IMS strategy.
Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and operational procedures.
Manage, assess and communicate risks associated with IMS West and GTS change activities in conjunction with technology and delivery BCEs
Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IMS West spending and initiatives.
Development, Acquisition & Deployment
Coordinate and facilitate consultation with IMS West and GTS stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
Approve, prioritize, and manage projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the implementation of major business or information systems initiatives.
Monitor and ensure continuous delivery of quality IT services through oversight of service level agreements with IMS West.
Ensure operational and data management practices within IMS West adhere to applicable laws and regulations.
Keep current with investments and research within GTS, including Omnia and Front-to-Back technologies. Advise, counsel, and educate executives and management on their competitive or financial impact.

This includes: a) ensuring that appropriate management information is received, considered and challenged as appropriate at intervals proportionate to the risks; and b) that staff members have clear understanding of the escalation path/principles
