The Application Analyst is responsible for enhancing, supporting and maintaining an application(s) with the St.

Luke's Health System.

Responsibilities include optimization of the application through development of new functionality, testing and implementing scheduled vendor releases and system upgrades, and fixing system defects. Provide technical and functional application analysis, define system requirements and develop logical data models using best practices for build and configuration, maintenance and data integrity. Works closely with cross functional application team and St.

Luke's clients by providing education on system functionality, and configuration of new tools to increase end user productivity with the application. Ensures application changes follow change management procedures and protocols, create and maintain all documentation for all assigned applications and develop, plan and execute testing for supported applications. Communicates all necessary application changes, enhancements and procedures to all necessary department teams.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support and development to assigned applications and implement new products.

  • Participates on new implementation / installation project teams.

  • Troubleshoot, research, and solve technically challenging problems involving integrated systems.

  • Tests and verifies software releases, upgrades and any changes prior to the promotion of code to the production environment.

  • Generate and update appropriate documentation as per policy and procedure. Including requirements, specifications, change control, end user documentation.

  • Provide education and training for application end user community keeping them informed of new release feature/functionality, changes/revisions that impact the operation.

  • Create and route required operational and management reporting needs as required by management and regulatory agencies.

  • Maintain current knowledge of technology by attending appropriate continuing education training/seminars and reading related periodicals.

  • Familiar with process improvement and project management methodologies.

  • Participates in Hospital/Network Committees as assigned.

  • Function as part of a team.

  • Strong Customer Service Orientation and ability to follow through on issue resolution.

  • Level 2 support for Application related issues.

  • On-Call Support Required.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; standing for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; walking for up to 2 hours a day, 1 hour at a time. Requires crouching, kneeling, and lifting of objects weighing up to 60 pounds, pushing objects weighing up to 80 pounds.

Requires hand and finger dexterity to perform repairs of small equipment and to use computer equipment. Seeing as it relates to general, near, color, and peripheral vision. Hearing as it relates to normal and telephone conversations.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration or equivalent work experience is preferred.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

One to two years of General Computer experience is required. One to two years of Healthcare experience is preferred.

One to two years of Revenue Cycle Application experience is preferred.

One to two years PC/LAN Support experience is preferred. PC and Printer knowledge and experience is preferred.

Application Experience: McKesson Star, Hospital Information System, Scheduling System experience is preferred.

Call Management System, MS Visio, MS Project experience is preferred. MS Office is required

Hospital Operations Knowledge / Experience: General, Radiology, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physician Services, Laboratory, Patient Care Services, Patient Processing experience preferred.

The IT Business Analyst is responsible for the timely review, business assessment, and where appropriate post initiative business value validation. This includes but is not limited to gathering business requirements, obtaining meaningful KPIs and/or hard/soft bottom line improvement (BLI) information, when appropriate generating a cost benefit analysis, completing a warm transfer to the responsible project manager or team lead, and conducting post initiative business value validation JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * As work is assigned to the BA function perform a timely review, assessment, and initial classification of requested IT optimizations/enhancements or net new applications. * Gathering of business requirements associated with IT requests requiring BA involvement. * Active participant maintaining the IT Project Prioritization Group (PPG) information and reports. * Ensure IT PPG members, business sponsors, and IT management are current and have the correct information to vote and/or provide input on initiatives on the PPG list. * Provide rough labor estimates of initiatives meeting criteria for BA involvement to the IT Resource Management team. * Identification of meaningful KPIs and/or hard/soft BLIs associated with initiatives processed by the BA team. * Obtain buy-in/approval from business sponsors regarding identified KPIs and/or BLIs. * Track requests and conduct post initiative validation of business value previous identified by the BA team. * Contribute to the generation of Decision Documents. * Where required aid or facilitate the building, submission, and analysis of RFP or RFI.
