    The *Application Administrator III *position is an IT professional whose skills, experience, and in-depth understanding of support operations is essential in operating as the liaison between the business and technology teams as well as troubleshooting, triaging, and resolving priority issues/requests within the integration points of the ICOMS ecosphere. This individual will be responsible for having in-depth knowledge of support operations and will play an integral role in maintaining and enhancing the reliability of the applications supported.
    Primary ICOMS Interface Support applications include ICOMS Gateways/web services, Provisioning Interfaces, Eventing, NRM, ICOMS GUI and Connection Manager as well as other key in house ICOMS applications.
    In addition to operations support, the individual will also partner with Business and Technology teams on releases and projects to provide any technical requirements and recommend design changes to address break-fix issues and increase operational efficiencies. They will also help maintain all internal documentation as well as continued maturation of monitoring and tools needed to support these areas effectively and continue reliable delivery of these services for our customers.
    This position is a Production Operations & Support group and therefore should be assumed that the individual will participate in any operational rotations such as on call duty and off hour deployments/ maintenances in order to minimize impacts to our customers.

  • Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions*

  • Oversee and provide Tier 3 platform, application and integration support.

  • Troubleshoot applications, leveraging in-depth knowledge of system functionality and business logic.

  • Monitor platforms and applications for errors and performance issues.

  • Analyze application errors and statistics in New Relic and Splunk to facilitate continuous improvement of platforms and applications.

  • Ability to lead outages to successful conclusion and effectively communicate to management

  • Function as liaison between business and Technology teams and interpret requests/issues into technical or non-technical terms.

  • Ensuring Operational requirements (e.g., Event Engineering, Monitoring) are included in all technology projects.

  • Support of Open System, HTTP, TCP/IP, Windows. Utilizing tools such MS SQL, Putty, Filezilla SOA Test tool and SQL developer.

  • Work closely with technology business partners, Field Operations, Customer Care and NetCracker on new product requirements to support application life cycle from development through implementation to support.
    Qualifications:Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field of study, or equivalent work experience

  • Experience working with APM tools such as New Relic or Splunk

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose application issues and get to the root case

  • Able to write and execute SQL queries

  • Able to work with minimal direction and in a team environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Minimum *

  • ICOMS proficient

  • Knowledge of ICOMS (modules: interfaces, equipment, order entry), Analog/Digital video, PPV/EOD/iTV, a plus).
  • Proven experience in working in Linux and/or Windows environments

  • Preferred*

  • Experience with VB Scripting for automation of ICOMS functions

  • Script development experience with bash/ksh/csh and/or Perl

  • Experience in telecommunications industry desired

  • Travel

  • 10% (maximum) expected.
