Senior Product Manager, Partner Affinity & Adoption

About Us

At AppDynamics, our Application Intelligence Platform empowers today's software-defined businesses with the ability to proactively monitor, manage, and optimize the most complex software environments. Because we start with user interactions, our platform is able to dynamically collect millions of performance data points across your applications and infrastructure. We then apply intelligence to instantly identify performance anomalies, enable automatic fixes and continuously measure business impact. And all this happens in real-time, in production, with cloud or on-premise deployment flexibility. So even in the most dynamic production environments, you can know more and know it faster. It's more than monitoring-it's true Application Intelligence. For more information, visit

About the Team

Our mission is to help our customers deliver high-quality application experiences to their users, customers, co-workers, and partners. Our services are actively used today on the business applications of the largest financial services, transportation, technology and retail companies in the world. We work together in a collaborative environment that cares equally about what we do (results) and how we do it (team interactions).

About the Role

The goal of the Partner Affinity program is to bring new offerings to the market with Channel and Sales partners to reach new market segments. At the same time, we also want to grow our adoption of the product organically through optimized trials and freemium offerings. This means being responsible for the end-to-end experience of a customer, from how they learn about AppD, to how they try, buy, deploy, renew and get help. This role requires someone who is passionate about how provisioning and licensing systems work, how to integrate with partners and make the customer experience as flawless as possible.

What you will do:

  • Own and guide the product integration strategy for our partners for our on-prem and SaaS offerings.

  • Partner closely with legal, sales, finance, services, support, product, marketing and operations leaders on designing and developing a coherent partner strategy and executing on it.

  • Own and build the freemium offer to build a steady customer pipeline for conversions.

  • Develop empathy for our customers and field teams so that you understand our customers and their needs. You will articulate those needs within AppDynamics and lead product initiatives that build solutions tailored to meet those needs as they evolve.

  • Prioritize the backlog and engage with various audiences to make tactical decisions.

  • Socialize our roadmap with customers and internal audiences to constantly promote and optimize our strategy.

  • Define success metrics for your product, track progress, and build plans to act on analysis.

  • Empower the teams to ship a quality product in a balanced, enjoyable team environment.

About you:

You are a product manager who is passionate about understanding market gaps, building an insightful, easy to use product and positioning the product to address the gaps. Your ability to ask questions, form opinions backed by judgment and facts, solve problems, establish relationships and consensus, and stay on top of the execution details are essential to how you deliver the product. You pay attention to detail, are highly analytical, resourceful, collaborative, and have the ability to work under time constraints to meet expectations.

Your qualifications are:

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience, with a proven record of shipping software in a high growth company and building great end-user experiences that deliver real value without complexity.

  • Technical or business background (Bachelor's degree), and can represent the product perspective in technical discussions. MBA a plus.

  • Strong grasp of technical concepts especially around CRM systems, provisioning & licensing systems and be able to articulate clear requirements and customer needs to a cross-functional team.

  • Experience leading the pre-purchase and partner experiences for a software company. This includes trial and onboarding workflows, information architecture, in-product and standalone help/support experiences such as online documentation and training, community, and ticket management.

  • Ability to work in collaboration with Eng, Ops, Architects, UX, Pricing, Marketing, and more in a team environment.

  • Excellent judgment and a sense of prioritization, along with an ability to see the story in qualitative and quantitative data.

  • Demonstrated business savvy and technical skills, driving delivery of complex technology projects on time. Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, providing timely progress/result reports to the right audiences.

  • Ability to collaborate with and influence other teams to get things done, with an eye for building the 'right' thing. Demonstrated ability to influence decisions across all organizational levels, especially without formal authority.

  • A true passion for product management and customer experience.
