Appalachia Mineral Title Landman

Company/Opportunity:

Founded by E&P experts, Flat River Minerals “FRM” is a strategic mineral and royalty acquisition company seeking an experienced contract landman to help support its in-house title team with Appalachian title research efforts. FRM is looking for a motivated and driven individual with efficient attention to detail, and a desire to apply their skills and experience in researching mineral ownership in the Marcellus/Utica plays. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of experience running title in Appalachia, specifically West Virginia. Candidates must be able to pick up and utilize new software quickly.

Job Duties:

• Research county records to determine mineral ownership by utilizing online databases of recorded documents within a given county;

• Build the Company's title database through the utilization of Tracts.co title software; analyze and interpret relevant documents to "chain" title within a parcel of land from patent to present;

• When needed, candidates may be asked participate in high-pressure due diligence projects where landmen are accountable for the identification and flagging of potential title defects for further review by in-house experts/outside counsel;

Compensation: $42.75/hour ($350/day for 8-hour day)

Location: The position will be remote, but preference will be given to candidates located within 2 hours of the Company’s office in Canonsburg, PA.

Required Competencies:

• Associates degree or higher (waived with applicable experience);

• 2+ years of experience running in Appalachia, ideally West Virginia

• Ability to work at a fast pace without sacrificing quality;

• Detail-oriented and process-driven; adept at the learning and application of new software technologies;

• Excellent communication skills;

• A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, accountability, and independent judgment;

• Takes ownership and accountability for the quality of work;
