Do you have a passion for APIs and efficient, secure business process and governance? We at U.S. Bank are seeking an API business process analyst to help us create process and governance around our growing catalog of APIs.

The API business process analyst is responsible for defining processes and governance around the entire life-cycle of APIs, from design, to customer onboarding and production support. This position requires exposure to and understanding of how an API program works end to end at a large company. A passion for identifying inefficiencies and resolving them through the application of process is required.

The U.S. Bank Enterprise API team contributes significantly to enabling our customer-focused experience. We are the first bank to use mobile to open accounts and we are using our data intelligence to bring a next-generation, holistic experience to customers across U.S. Bank.

The top challenges for the team are delivering APIs for our rapidly evolving product, balancing development velocity with API consistency, and improving the architecture to handle the scale of 2.5 million daily customers conducting transactions through mobile, online and other digital channels. Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and outline the full lifecycle of an API

  • Create processes to streamline efficiency and meet business, technical, and security objectives

  • Present process ideas to stake-holders to obtain buy-in

  • Participate in implementation of new processes

  • Work with API Management Platform Team to create and refine API Governance

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 10 or more years of experience in project management, and computer technology applications and analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience creating and applying business processes

  • 2 years of experience managing IT projects

  • 2 years technical writing experience (may include process documentation)

  • 1 Experience working with APIs (examples include design, testing, architecture, development, security, and management)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • High attention to detail and visual presentation

  • 1 years of experience with an API Management Platform such as Apigee or the CA API Gateway

  • 2 years of Agile experience

  • Excellent presentation skills and comfort presenting complex information to a variety of stakeholders

The role is responsible for onboarding new API clients and overseeing current API clients to ensure they meet the required elements of their API contracts. This role negotiates and executes new partnerships designed to drive significant new revenue at Ally Invest. This role is responsible for all API and 3rd party vendors who write or develop trading software, financial portfolio software, or apps and websites designed to allow users to connect their Ally Invest account for purposes outside of Ally Invest's own offerings. This role facilitates the negotiation of master agreements to pay for these services, as well as necessary inter-company agreements to assure Ally Invest regulated entities are fully compliant. The position includes administering collection and reviewing of documents to ensure legal/regulatory compliance and escalation as necessary; liaison with Compliance, Legal, Marketing, Service, Operations, and Technology departments and personnel. The ideal candidate would have 3-5 years' experience in the financial services industry. Job Responsibilities * Supports the Director, API with by providing recommendations of API Initiatives and offering perspectives to help evolve the API business. * Attends presentations/compliance/legal agreement meetings and action items that need to be refined, recorded, and approved from a regulatory perspective; acts as Compliance liaison to ensure alignments across entities for regulatory compliance. * Administers and reviews API client's business agreements with compliance and legal to ensure potential partners follows protocols and compliance standards and escalates to compliance and legal as needed, resolving conflicts as they arise * Responsible for filing Due Diligence forms, API and Channel Partner agreements through ARIBA site for company approval * Reviews API partner's websites, test sites to ensure partners are compliant with Ally Invest standards and onboards new clients to Ally Invest * Gathers functional requirements, initiates scope of requirements and project manages or coordinates and communicates deliverables / milestones to Sr. Dir.
