Do you have a passion for APIs and efficient, secure business process and governance? We at U.S. Bank are seeking an API business process analyst to help us create process and governance around our growing catalog of APIs.

The API business process analyst is responsible for defining processes and governance around the entire life-cycle of APIs, from design, to customer onboarding and production support. This position requires exposure to and understanding of how an API program works end to end at a large company. A passion for identifying inefficiencies and resolving them through the application of process is required.

The U.S. Bank Enterprise API team contributes significantly to enabling our customer-focused experience. We are the first bank to use mobile to open accounts and we are using our data intelligence to bring a next-generation, holistic experience to customers across U.S. Bank.

The top challenges for the team are delivering APIs for our rapidly evolving product, balancing development velocity with API consistency, and improving the architecture to handle the scale of 2.5 million daily customers conducting transactions through mobile, online and other digital channels. Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and outline the full lifecycle of an API

  • Create processes to streamline efficiency and meet business, technical, and security objectives

  • Present process ideas to stake-holders to obtain buy-in

  • Participate in implementation of new processes

  • Work with API Management Platform Team to create and refine API Governance

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 10 or more years of experience in project management, and computer technology applications and analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience creating and applying business processes

  • 2 years of experience managing IT projects

  • 2 years technical writing experience (may include process documentation)

  • 1 Experience working with APIs (examples include design, testing, architecture, development, security, and management)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • High attention to detail and visual presentation

  • 1 years of experience with an API Management Platform such as Apigee or the CA API Gateway

  • 2 years of Agile experience

  • Excellent presentation skills and comfort presenting complex information to a variety of stakeholders

Essential Functions: * Business Analysis: Initiates research and analysis of assigned business area and functions both within the company and across the retail industry * Ensures analysis of stakeholder objectives, and the underlying issues arising from investigations into business requirements and problems, and identifies and prioritizes options for consideration * Elicits and documents functional requirements, ensuring requirements are concise, complete, specific, prioritized, and unambiguous, and that they are aligned to the strategic and tactical goals of the project and the business * Works with the QE team to provide requirements input into the test strategy, test plans, and acceptance criteria to ensure solution meets traceable business requirements * Facilitates and develops the UAT planning and testing process with business users and IT service providers * Process Modelling: Discovers and documents as-is processes by applying standard modelling techniques * Designs and models to-be processes, performing gap analysis and identifying areas for improvement * Assists with feasibility assessments (business, technical and financial) * Provides estimates to the Project Manager for Business Analyst tasks, and user related tasks * Assists the Project Manager in identifying and managing risks, issues, and dependencies * Supports the vendor/hardware/software selection process by providing input into the RFI and RFP and assisting in the assessment of responses against requirements * Change Implementation Planning & Management (where required): Advises the user community in the provision of change planning, transition and communication support, liaising with the project team * Organization Design & Implementation: Ability to: Support business impact assessment to identify how the changes from the "as-is" processes, systems, and structures to the "to-be" processes, systems, and structures impact specific organizations and roles * Domain specific knowledge (e.g. eCommerce, Logistics, Store Operations, HR, Finance, etc.) * Infrastructure (servers and network), POS (Point of Sale) work experience. * Minimum two years of experience required as business analyst or systems analyst in the field of data warehouse & business intelligence Education & Experience Requirments: * Bachelor's degree in Business Management * Experience with systems development methodologies * Experience as a Business Analyst or commensurate business experience * Experience with user-centered design methodologies Knowledge & Skills Requirements: * Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint) and system documentation tools. #LI-NC1 #LI-NC1 Belk Charlotte NC
