Start your career at Farmers today!Job SummaryEntry level APD Specialist who either completes in-person or virtual inspections and prepares estimates, or proactively reviews and adjusts estimates from repair shops, either Direct Repair or non-Direct repair, and subrogation demands from other carriers. Establishes damages and negotiates settlement of claims with repair facilities and/or customers and works with them to manage repairs and rental. Reviews and resolves supplements. Confirms accuracy of Total Loss evaluations and negotiates settlement with customers or their representative. Communicates and collaborates with Claim Owners to facilitate claim resolution for customers. May be assigned as a Claim Owner on Tier 1 claims.Essential Job FunctionsCompletes vehicle inspections and prepares estimate or reviews and adjusts estimates from repair facilities and subrogation demands using claims estimating software and determines claims related damage. Establishes damages and negotiates settlement of claims with repair facilities or other carriers. Manages repair process and adjusts auto repair supplements and manages rental. Confirms accuracy of total loss evaluation, explains the process and settles total loss claims when appropriate. Obtains total loss salvage release from policyholder or claimant and completes field clearing note before assigning to Salvage department, mitigating additional salvage storage costs. Interacts/collaborates directly with policyholders, claimants, agents, and other representatives including repair facilities. Explains damages and the repair process, and sets expectations. Effectively collaborates with claim owners for customer interaction and resolution strategy. Appropriate communication with all entities associated with the claim to ensure the repairs are completed efficiently. This includes parts availability and appropriate repair scheduling. Confirms, explains, and applies coverage, assists with rental management, determines and reports on subrogation potential, fraud ind icators, negotiates and issues claim payments. Performs applicable administrative tasks (timekeeping, expense reports). Completes assigned training and activities to develop the knowledge, skills and abilities required to complete the job duties. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.Physical EnvironmentEducation RequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalent required. VIEW JOBS 10/18/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-16T00:00 Job Summary The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Warrior Complex Case Coordination (C3) Liaison responds to referrals of warriors in crisis, conducts initial assessments, and refers warriors to appropriate WWP internal resources or external resources as appropriate. The Warrior Complex Case Coordination (C3) Specialist serves as a liaison to ensure rapid, coordinated, and collaborative response to warriors with difficult, complex, urgent issues that exceed the current capability or scope of a specific WWP program. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Review warrior referrals and cases, conduct prompt initial assessments, and determine appropriate responses. * Provide assistance to warriors in need. Identify and coordinate appropriate external care for warriors dealing with complex, urgent issues that require immediate intervention. Coordinate warriors' travel and appointments as appropriate. * Escalate issues to leadership as appropriate. * Coordinate warriors' support and care through one or more internal WWP programs and/or with external organizations, e.g., Veteran's Administration (VA) and social services agencies, to address various levels of warriors in crisis. * Obtain Release of Information from warriors (or from warriors' families) as required to enable the warrior's continued long-term coordination of care and treatment and recovery. * Serve as the WWP point of contact and continually follow up with warriors throughout their care, treatment, and recovery. * Escalate problems and issues to leadership as necessary to ensure warriors are receiving proper and timely assistance, treatment, and care. * Develop and maintain working relationships with Veteran's Administration and with local community and government resources. Improve support for warriors in crisis by leveraging strong relationships with internal WWP programs and external resources for the benefit of warriors. * Refer warrior and/or warrior's family to internal resources (WWP programs) as well as external resources, e.g., VA, to meet the needs of warriors and facilitate the recovery process. * Coordinate with warriors' families and advocates, as appropriate, to ensure appropriate step-down treatment and resources. Coordinate the assistance needed for each warrior's long-term support to ensure appropriate care for warriors as they continue their journey to recovery. * Empower warriors for lasting recovery by mitigating the challenges that precipitated the crisis. * Update case documentation and ensure data are accurately, timely, and appropriately maintained in database. * Prepare briefings and reports including compiling, organizing, and updating status reports regularly. * Other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Demonstrated understanding of local community and government mental health resources. * Demonstrated understanding of military and veteran issues, and the emotional impact of combat, e.g., brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and combat stress. * Demonstrated understanding of the challenges faced by warriors affected by trauma. * Demonstrated understanding of psychological and mental health issues. * Demonstrated understanding of the social perspective of warriors. * Exceptional interpersonal skills. Equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, or experience may be considered in lieu of degree. * Position requires experience in any one of the following: * Three years of experience as a social worker. * Three years of experience working with veteran healthcare-focused programs and case management. * Three years of experience working with military or veterans' population in support of their development and readjustment. Preferences * Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, clinical psychology, rehabilitation counseling, case management, health services administration, or mental health-related field. * Five years of experience working with local community and government resources providing services for warriors in crisis. * Five years of experience working with and providing support to wounded service members who are dealing with both visible and invisible injuries, e.g., brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, and combat stress. * Five years of experience as a social worker.
