We recognize the Apartment Maintenance Technician is the core of the resident experience. Not only are they troubleshooting and solving various maintenance issues, they are going into the homes of our residents. This is a huge responsibility and we value the level of customer care it takes to do this well. The Apartment Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting in the upkeep and maintenance of the Weidner community. The Apartment Maintenance Technician is very motivated to find solutions to complex issues and has an eye for detail. Most of all, Apartment Maintenance Technicians enjoy the work they do and continuously help create the resident experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of apartments for occupancy

  • Respond to service requests

  • Performs maintenance and repairs on electrical, plumbing, as well as small and large appliances

  • Maintain pools and wading area and HVAC systems depending on the community amenities

  • Modest carpentry work as needed

  • Interior and exterior painting as needed

  • Provide customer service

Qualifications:

  • Experience in apartment maintenance or related field preferred

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • All service personnel are also required to have a personal set of general tools

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds

  • Push/pull up to 200 pounds

  • Have a valid driver license and reliable transportation

VIEW JOBS 12/14/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-03-13T00:00 Purpose: Troubleshoot repair and maintain kitchen equipment and conduct minor building repairs at designated restaurants to keep assigned restaurants in a safe, functional and marketable condition; and to ensure compliance with state and federal accessibility standards. Job Functions: * Repair and maintain assigned number of restaurants * Complete or manageall repairs and maintenance work to standard * Respond to emergencies including nights and weekends to correct unsafe or hazardous conditions. * Perform periodic maintenance assessments * Perform periodic audits for disabled customer accessibility and take corrective action when needed. * Execute effective administrative processes to schedule and track repairs, maintain van parts inventory and a central warehouse of tools and supplies. * Process work orders submitted by restaurant teams. Prioritize and schedule restaurant visits in partnership with district managers. * Track and process parts purchases and appropriate billing to accounts payable. * Track and record completed repairs and maintain accurate records within facility tracking system. Grow technical skills and competencies to expand ability to maintain additional assets in the restaurant. Education: * High school diploma or GED required. Formal trade related training/education and or certification(s) a plus. Restaurant equipment certifications and some HVAC/mechanical, refrigeration experience is preferred but not required. Experience (and other qualifications): * 3-5 years of hands-on experience working in a multi-unit facility maintenance or equipment repair capacity. * Wide experience performing a variety of restaurant equipment, electrical, plumbing and building repairs. * Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize tasks in a self-directed work environment and maintain high levels of productivity without direct supervision. * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Strong customer service and problem solving orientation. Seeks to solve problems with a sense of urgency. * Curiosity and aptitude for learning how things work and desire to grow and broaden skills and competencies. * Basic computer skills, including experience with Outlook and Excel, and working knowledge of inventory control practices. * Valid Drivers license with good driving record and able to pass a criminal background check The minimum age to work with the Northwest Restaurants family of restaurant companies is 16 years or older. Our Facilities Technicians cover our restaurant locations spread throughout Western Washington, as need be, as scheduled by the Facilities Supervisor Gary West.
