Job Description:

Leidos Defense Group has an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the CBP NAML mission in aircraft maintenance and logistics support to ensure availability and readiness to meet operational commitments.

Leidos has multiple openings and levels of positions for A&P Mechanics that will troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. This role will repair and replace aircraft components.

These positions are at the customer sites in the following locations:

Albuquerque, NM / Alpine, TX / Aquadilla/Hernandez, PR / Bellingham, WA / San Diego, CA / Buffalo, NY / El Paso, TX / Spokane, WA / Grand Forks, ND / Hammond, LA / Havre, MT / Houlton, ME / Jacksonville, FL / Laredo , TX / Sierra Vista, AZ / Manassas, VA / McAllen Miller, TX / Juma, AZ / Miami, FL / North Island, CA / Plattsburgh, NY / Mt. Clemens, MI / Tucson, AZ / Spring, TX

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Use of technical manuals, technical data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repair of malfunctioning or damaged components

Must be able to perform the full range of airframe and engine maintenance, repair, modifications, inspections and servicing of aircraft in accordance with approved methods, techniques and practices and certify accomplished work.

This entails the ability to:

  • troubleshoot engines and systems
  • use the federal supply system
  • read and understand technical manuals and schematics
  • read and interpret all instruments
  • use special test equipment and tools
  • research the technical library
  • perform full system checkouts on all aircraft systems
  • perform mechanic test flight duties
  • perform complete servicing of aircraft

Basic Qualifications:

A&P Mechanic I - requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years direct experience

A&P Mechanic II - requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years direct experience

Must have a Secret clearance with the ability to pass a SSBI investigation

All levels will require:

  • Direct experience in aircraft maintenance

  • FAA Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) License.

  • Valid State Driver License

Preferred Qualifications

Military technical school degree.

Job Description: * Perform systems engineering, software installation, test and validation, system interface, monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting, repair, modifications, and verification to ensure fully operational Radar equipment and system software performance. * Provide immediate resolution of system problems/failures that occur during operations. * Assist with data compilation and analysis, test setup and execution of all special tests and related data collection activities. * Support test conductor in the development of special test scripts and test requirements. * Provide radar operations support with running system diagnostics and analysis of results. * Provide software and operations support in analog and digital simulations, live operations, system performance checks, and other system specifics as requested. * Support a diverse team, internal/external customers and military personnel with technical system requirements. * Deploy domestically and internationally with the system for up to 120 days at a time. * Accept additional assignments to domestic and international remote locations to support program requirements. * Work in remote and hazardous locations exposed to environmental hazards, energized equipment, radar radiation hazards, and unexploded ordnance. * This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Required Education (including Major): Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Software or related engineering discipline. Basic Requirements: * 6+ years of experience in technical engineering support of field operations working with radar system software and operations in assessing and correcting faulty equipment. * Experience with Radar X-Band hardware/software concepts, RF systems, troubleshooting, and reading/utilizing hardware schematics. * Extensive experience with UNIX based OS platforms (Solaris, HP-UX, LINUX etc.) * Experience in maintaining and providing engineering assessment and corrective actions on faulted equipment, and installation and testing of engineering modifications/updates * Existing active Secret clearance * Security + certification or the ability to receive one within 90 days of hire Desired Requirements: * Experience using design, debug, and test hardware/software. * Knowledge of analog/digital hardware design. * Excellent teaming skills, multi-task, work under stress, support across multiple disciplines, and flexible to travel to support the radar. * Familiarity with Network equipment configuration/setup (routers switches etc) What's YOUR Mission?
