WHAT WILL YOU DO

This individual is responsible for performing specimen verification for every specimen received into the department. He/she will perform specimen bar-coding, patient registration and accessioning into different LIS systems for Soft.

He/she will pour off specimen for ancillary testing as needed. He/she will troubleshoot specimen issues for items such as patient identification on specimen containers/requisitions and/or insurance. This individual may place multiple phone calls a day and will be responsible for following the AIDET guidelines.

He/she will complete proper documentation of specimen issues. Clerical duties include the filing of specimen logs. This individual shall maintain a healing environment for employees and patients with a spirit of caring and concern as incorporated in the philosophy of our Catholic healthcare systems while performing all job functions.
