Department

The finance department provides accounting services and financial support to all other functional areas of Filevine. The department records accounts payable and receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and all other financial elements of the company. The department analyzes financial metrics to determine the company's financial position and to propose any changes needed to run the organization in a cost-effective manner

Job Summary

The AP and Payroll Clerk assists the AP and Payroll Manager with most aspects of accounts payable and payroll. The AP Clerk ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers and ensures expenses are coded to the proper account and department. The Payroll Clerk processes payroll for all salary and hourly employees on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities

• Assists AP & Payroll Manager with tasks associated with processing payroll and accounts payable

• Prepares and processes semi-monthly and hourly payroll on an as needed basis

• Prepares, reviews, and processes all invoices submitted for payment and verifies they have the necessary approvals and are in line with company policies

• Identifies and codes expenses to the correct general ledger and department codes

• Processes ACH payments, wires, and manual checks weekly

• Work with vendors and other third parties for invoice processing and payment inquiries

• Create journal entries and other accounting entries as needed

• Assist with audits and other queries as needed

• Assist with month-end processes, reviews, and reconciliation as needed

Qualifications

• Analytical and problem solving

• Detail-oriented and organizational

• Integrity and ability to keep information confidential

• Technical aptitude, experience with Excel

• No prior payroll or accounts payable experience is required

• AP and/or Payroll, or basic accounting experience is a plus

• High school Diploma required (post secondary education is a plus)

• Excellent verbal and written communication
