BASIC FUNCTIONS:
This position will be allocated to campuses based upon identified data needs and the campus achievement
opportunity gap. The position may have core content (Math, ELAR, Science, or Social Studies) that have a
minimum of one teaching period that is the length of the standard class period in the identified area. The
position will provide exemplary classroom instruction to be utilized as a lab setting for other teachers' on-the job
professional development. The position will also conduct classroom coaching and provide feedback follow-up
for identified teachers. The position will be the trainer of trainers representative and professional
development provider for campus/region/district professional development on strategies and pedagogy related
to the core content area based upon professional development district offerings.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Teach the standard class period, with an identified classroom as the teacher of record, to be utilized as a lab
observation setting for on-the-job observations for other teachers, direct instruction to

4.Assist campus in developing strong integration of best practices and strategies within the content area (e.g.
culturally-responsive curriculum and pedagogy, English Language Learner strategies, student voice, and
critical examination of school practices that inhibit progress) that leads to educational equity and student
5.Participate in curriculum development and revisions in content and program areas, if requested in specific
content
6.Develop strategic rotation with campus administration to assist other content area teachers to provide
instructional and intentional strategy support for the identified campus student achievement
7.Serve as the trainer of trainers for the campus and provide on-campus professional development for
campus/region/district professional development as appropriate for the specific content area by the district

8.Participate in professional development as required to perform and improve required skills in program
9.Work with campus administrative staff to identify individual teachers to develop a coaching cycle for
specific instructional skill development and student academic progress, related to the campus opportunity
achievement gap, across all

Serve as a new teacher mentor to facilitate growth of new teachers within the assigned content

Salary commensurate with education and experience
Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines.
