Anticipated School Nurse (.60Fte)

Otter Creek Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and collaborative individual to fill a School Nurse vacancy for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in nursing.
Valid license as a professional Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Vermont
Current certificate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR/AED).
Vermont Department of Education Level I or Level II license endorsed as a school nurse.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to compassionately assist sick children and administer appropriate treatment.
Ability to provide appropriate nursing services for children and staff with urgent and
non-urgent health issues.
Ability to develop and maintain health plans for students with chronic health conditions.
Ability to connect and build relationships with students, families, and staff.
Teach health topics as requested by the school principal
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with students, staff, parents, and appropriate health personnel.
Work as a team with colleagues to promote a culture of wellness.
Participates in ongoing promotion of wellness of students, families, and staff.
Oversee and practice health services in accordance with state law, school policy and protocols and comply with VT State School Nurse Standards of Practice.
