TITLE: Literacy Coach
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in education, literacy, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of successful teaching experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of literacy development, assessment, and instructional strategies across grade levels.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of educators and stakeholders.
Proficiency in data analysis and using assessment data to inform instructional decision-making.

JOB GOAL:
The literacy coach will work collaboratively with the administrators, teachers, parents, and other school stakeholders to enhance literacy instruction for K-6 students, while improving student achievement in reading and writing. The literacy coach will provide ongoing hands-on coaching, support, and professional development for teachers, while utilizing current research and evidence based literacy practices. The literacy coach will promote inclusive culturally responsive practices and positive relationships, while using data to drive effective instructional strategies to support the academic growth of all students at various stages of literacy and language development.
REPORTS TO: Principal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with school leadership to implement a comprehensive literacy plan and ELA program aligned with state standards and educational goals.
Provide instructional coaching, modeling, and co-teaching support to teachers to enhance literacy instructional practices in reading and writing.
Facilitate professional development workshops on literacy-related topics
Assist in the selection and implementation of research-based literacy curriculum materials and resources.
Analyze student assessment data to identify areas for instructional improvement and develop targeted intervention strategies to support struggling readers and writers.
Collaborate with teachers and instructional staff to implement highly effective literacy strategies to support multilingual learners.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Curriculum, Supervisor of Instruction or building principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Months
SALARY: Subject to EPEA Teacher Salary Guide
EVALUATION: Performance of job will be evaluated in accordance with state law and the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of certified staff.
