Position Purpose

Under the general supervision of the Prinicipal and Director of Guidance, to assist in the implementation and administration of the school district's Guidance service programs in the areas of, psychology, guidance, and social work in conformance with district policies and state objectives, as well as applicable law.

Essential Functions

• Teach and deliver developmental guidance curriculum in a classroom setting to students grades 9-12.

• Deliver individual counseling services to support students' social, emotional, and academic development.

• Lead student groups on social skills, academic skills, student interests, and/or any other preventative topic needed by the population.

• Provide daily/weekly crisis counseling and support to students.

• Collaborate and consult with other support staff, administration, parents, school-based partners, and teachers by attending weekly team meetings.

• Maintain strong 2-way communication by phone and email with parents regarding students' progress, needs, and issues; attend parent conferences, IEP and 504 meetings.

• Create, manage and update student counseling records and counseling plans.

• Assist with middle to high school transition, including student course selection and high school registration.

• Other duties as requested by Principal, Director or designee.

Job Requirements:

Degree Preferred: Master

Experience Preferred: 3 Years

Applicant must hold an active Massachusetts School Counseling license.
