Description: Burlington Township School is seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to serve as the Girls Basketball Coach for our high school basketball program. The Girls Basketball Head Coach will be responsible for leading and guiding student-athletes in developing their basketball skills, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship, and promoting a positive and competitive team culture.

Seeking a successful candidate who demonstrates the ability to:

Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the girls basketball team, inspiring athletes to strive for excellence both on and off the court.

• Player Development: Develop and implement comprehensive training programs that focus on skill development, game strategy, physical conditioning, and mental toughness.

• Practice Planning: Plan and conduct structured and engaging practices that address the individual needs of players and contribute to overall team improvement.

• Game Strategy: Develop and implement effective game plans and strategies tailored to the strengths and weaknesses of opponents, while maximizing the potential of the team.

• Player Evaluation: Assess player performance during practices and games, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help players reach their full potential.

• Team Culture: Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, mutual respect, and academic achievement.

• Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with players, parents, school administration, and athletic department staff regarding team expectations, schedules, and program updates.

• Player Recruitment: Assist in recruiting and retaining talented student-athletes for the basketball program, working collaboratively with feeder programs and middle school coaches.

• Player Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes during practices, games, and team travel, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.

• Off-Season Activities: Organize and supervise off-season training sessions, camps, clinics, and other basketball-related activities to support player development and team cohesion.

• Professional Development: Stay informed about best practices in basketball coaching and player development, participating in coaching clinics, workshops, and professional development opportunities as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level, preferably in girls basketball.

• Extensive knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and techniques.

• Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to inspire and empower student-athletes to achieve their goals.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish positive relationships with players, parents, and coaching staff.

• Positive attitude, enthusiasm for coaching, and commitment to the personal and athletic development of student-athletes.

• Availability to attend practices, games, and team events during after-school hours and weekends.

• Willingness to uphold the values and standards of Burlington Township School District and the athletic department.
