Title: Middle School Assistant Principal (Curriculum)
Reports To: Principal, Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent
Employment Status: Full Time
FLSA Status: Exempt
Qualifications:
Valid and appropriate Principal's certificate/license from the State of Ohio.
Master's degree from accredited college or university.
Record of good attendance and strong work ethic.
Evidence of good moral character as established in section 3301-20-01 of the Ohio Administrative Code.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
Ability to use technology for data collection and student database.
Willingness to work with students, staff and community members.
Prior related work experience required and above average evaluations.
Willingness to participate in future training.
Willingness to follow assigned work schedule.
Demonstrates ability to communicate with students, parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators.
Willingness to meet the needs of all students (e.g. at-risk, high achieving, special education…).
Knowledge of how to integrate technology into the curriculum.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of Ohio law as it pertains to student discipline and attendance.
Willingness to work in school sponsored and related activities.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Restorative Practices and PBIS to promote a positive school culture.
Experience working with a culturally diverse student population required.
Accesses and responds to electronic communication (i.e. website, email, voicemail, etc.) daily.
Alternative to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate.
General Description:
Takes a lead role in the school's efforts to create a positive, structured, disciplined school culture. Assists with the daily operation of the school, specifically in the areas of attendance, behavioral, and disciplinary prevention and intervention services with an emphasis on Restorative Justice and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Embraces an inclusive philosophy and demonstrates experience with implementation of MTSS and Positive Behavior and Support methods. Other activities and responsibilities may be delegated by the building principal.
