JOB TITLE: ANTICIPATED - INSTRUCTIONAL TEACHER COACHES (2 Positions)

REPORTS TO: Principal, Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Supervisor of STEM

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid New Jersey Educational Teaching Certificate

  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in the development of curricular programs, evaluation of curricula, and evaluation of instructional development

  • Ability to maintain a positive learning environment

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Expertise in assessment, data collection, and data analysis

  • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

  • Independent use of word processing, E-Mail, Internet, excel/google sheets and appropriate software applications is highly desirable.

JOB GOAL:

The Instructional Coach must be knowledgeable of instructional best practices, data-informed decision-making, the academic 3-Tier RTI process, and possess the ability to work collaboratively with administrators, director of curriculum, child study team members, school counselors, behavior specialists, special education teachers, general education teachers, parents, and staff and be able to design, implement, and monitor interventions/enrichments to help students achieve academic success (proficiency, growth).

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide coordination and consultation to teachers, helping to provide opportunities for individualized and small group instruction - differentiating curriculum to meet student need via enrichment and intervention.

  • Direct district-wide internal assessment programs to determine the reading abilities, comprehension, writing and math skills of all students and to identify those needing remediation, intervention, and enrichment.

  • Collect, maintain, and interpret assessment data to inform instruction and monitor student progress toward state standards and district objectives in content areas.

  • Analyze academic performance data to inform instruction, scheduling, and assist in determining academic goals toward standard-based mastery.

  • Interpret assessment results with administration, teaching staff, and the community; developing and maintaining records and reports, as necessary

  • Assist certified staff in their efforts to maintain professional competence and improvement through in-service education, planning meetings, and professional growth activities.

  • Participate in the evaluation of district curricular, instructional, intervention and enrichment programs and make recommendations for improvements, as appropriate. Assists in allocation of SIA and other instructional funding, as necessary.

  • Participate in district-level and school-level planning, scheduling, faculty meetings, committees and other school system groups with a focus on student achievement and growth.

  • Maintain professional competence and continuous improvement through in-service education and other professional growth activities.

  • Coordinate school-based teams to complete NJDOE annual school plan development and goal status requirements - including design and implementation of plans, as well as data collection of student growth and proficiency, chronic absenteeism, behavior, assessment participation, classroom walkthrough summaries, and other requirements per ASPS in NJ Homeroom.

  • Analyze internal benchmarks and NJDOE data for trends in proficiency and growth for overall grade-levels as well as subgroups.

  • Support school administrators with school-wide intervention programming.

  • Support scheduling of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 interventions and review ongoing intervention student performance.

  • Uphold and enforces school rules, administrative regulations and board policy.

  • Perform other duties within the scope of his/her employment and certification as may be assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and work year to be determined as mutually agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
