Bachelor's Degree
A valid license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Education
Demonstrated experience with elementary learning principles
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):
Creates and maintains an effective and developmentally appropriate learning environment for all children in classroom
Manages student behavior to provide a safe and optimal classroom climate
Participates in a variety of meetings and professional development activities to improve instruction and become up to date on district initiatives
Assesses student progress towards learning targets, objectives, and expectations
Collects data to document student progress and aid in planning
Provides feedback on progress to students, parents, and administration
Holds parent conferences in the fall and spring to discuss individual student progress
Instructs students in English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and an anti-bullying curriculum
Prepares daily lessons and activities
Consistent and on-time attendance is required for supervision and instruction of the students
Provides targeted intervention to close student learning gaps
Differentiates for the purpose of providing an effective program that addresses individual need
Collaborates with instructional staff and colleagues to improve student outcomes
Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve social, emotional and learning problems
Follows specific standards, policies, and procedures of the building and the district
Attends and participates in faculty meetings
Consistent, reliable and punctual attendance is essential for supervision and instruction of the students
Responsible for implementing "other job related duties" as needed
