Job Title: ANTICIPATED: School To Career Pathways Coordinator

Location: Duxbury High School, Duxbury, Massachusetts

Reports to: Assistant Superintendent while working collaboratively with Building Principals and Head of Guidance.

Supervises: None

Position Summary:
Duxbury High School is implementing an Innovation Career Pathway in Advanced Manufacturing beginning in the 2024-2025 school year. The School to Career Pathways Coordinator role is an opportunity to be part of an innovative team that will support and grow Career Pathways at Duxbury High School. The School to Career Pathways Coordinator will guide students in exploring career paths and post-secondary opportunities. The Coordinator will collaborate closely with stakeholders in the schools and the community, fostering a network of connections with the goal of career exploration. The School to Career Pathways Coordinator will maintain records for the pathways program and use all available data to assess the program's progress. A successful candidate is a self-motivated and creative thinker who enjoys being part of a team.

The position is grant-funded and, therefore, is subject to funding availability.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead implementation of Innovation Career Pathways programming
Provide individual and group career counseling to students, assisting them in developing academic and career goals.
Administer career assessments and interpret results to help students gain self-awareness and explore career options.
Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses, colleges, and community organizations to facilitate work-based learning opportunities, internships, career exploration, and student job shadowing experiences.
Collaborate with teachers to integrate career exploration into the curriculum.
Provide post-secondary training, including but not limited to instruction on resume writing and interviewing skills.
Assist with planning college and career fairs, workshops, speakers, and information sessions for students and parents.
Monitor and support dual enrollment students.
Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress toward career goals.
Assess the program by collecting and analyzing data
Remain current on trends and developments in higher education and the workforce to provide relevant information to students.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in counseling, education, or a related field.
State licensure or certification as a school counselor is preferred.
Experience working in a high school setting, preferably in a counseling capacity.
Strong organization, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and school staff.
Knowledge of career counseling theories, techniques, and resources.
Familiarity with college admissions processes and financial aid options.
