Overview

The Senior Designer is a hands-on design role for individuals with a superb sense of typography, strong conceptual skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of the digital medium. This role is responsible for the concept + design of all digital content, from landing pages and digital look books, to marketing emails and digital campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Create visual assets for all of Anthropologie's digital channels; web, social media, apps, banners, emails, etc.

  • Pull swipe and build mood boards, to visually explore digital experiences and content.

  • Work the rest of the Digital Content team in developing and maintaining the look and feel of the Anthropologie brand online; as well as establishing style guides and internal documentation.

  • Initiate collaboration with merchandisers, copywriters, and e-commerce specialists in the production of consistent and captivating brand messages.

  • Identify new opportunities to elevate our brand in the digital space, staying up to date on best practices, and basic UX.

  • Work closely with both post-production and web production teams to ensure quality results.

Qualifications

  • 3-6 years of digital design experience in the ecommerce, retail, or agency space

  • Fluency in industry standard software suite; especially Photoshop + Illustrator.

  • Knowledge and understanding of interactive capabilities and best practices.

  • Experience in graphic design is required; experience in web design is regarded favorably.

  • Past experience in retail or fashion related industry is a plus.

  • Strong typography skills.

  • An interest in the retail and fashion industries. Maintaining a knowledge of trends and best practices.

  • Thrives and innovates under challenging deadlines, while remaining a team player.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Advertising or equivalent.

Basic Purpose: The Web Graphic Designer is responsible for creating and editing high visual designs for promotional and marketing materials primarily delivered in a digital format such as mobile devices, web, email, and PDF. This position is a critical part of our success as it represents the CJ's brand message and engages customers through design. Responsibilities: * Design digital artwork, as well as various promotional and marketing materials, for use on websites, forums, social media pages, email campaigns, internal events, and all other digital marketing mediums. * Create ads in multiple formats for projects while maintaining a brand and continuity between ads in the same project. * Illustrate concepts by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size, and style and related aesthetic concepts. * Design brand-related artwork for various projects. * Organize collaborative projects with other creative team members. * Ensure marketing messages have clear purpose, clarity, and style to meet our brand. * Use cameras and other photo studio equipment for various projects. * Liaison with external printers on a regular basis to ensure deadlines are met and materials are printed to the highest quality. * Print mailing materials for both internal and external distribution. * Maintain technical knowledge of the current industry by monitoring trends, reviewing professional publications, or attending workshops or seminars. * Manage email design, copy, and scheduling. * Use statistical analysis to determine points of improvement in customer engagement. * All other duties as assigned. Job Specifications: * Education: Associate degree or equivalent in Art, Graphic Design, or related field. * Experience: 1-2 years of related experience preferred. * Specific Skills: Ability to consult with customer to understand their needs. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc.: Proficient in basic HTML and CSS. Proficient skill and up-to-date with latest versions of Illustrator and Photoshop. Physical Environment: Functions in a temperature-controlled office environment a majority of the time. Work requires the ability to sit and stand throughout the workday; position requires use of fingers, hands, and arms on a consistent basis for keyboarding, phone work, filing, and occasional photography. May need to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion. The standard office environment has moderate noise levels associated with computer equipment, customers, and phone conversations.
