The Apparel Visual Manager is responsible for managing all visual aspects of the Department including; hiring and developing visual talent, managing the merchant process, developing and applying merchant skills and managing execution of display to create a compelling customer experience.

REPORTS TO: General Visual Manager

PARTNERS WITH: Apparel Shop Manager and Display Manager

EXPERIENCE

  • An entrepreneurial spirit with a startup mentality to be a part of our new Anthropologie & Co stores

  • Retail store management experience in fashion, specialty, and lifestyle merchandising or equivalent

  • Expert on core and apparel trends with an ability to anticipate new trends

  • An understanding of the Anthropologie culture and its appeal to the local market

  • Ability to drive sales through excellent service, strong visual presentation, and a full understanding of the business

PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT

  • Recruits, hires, and retains top talent to build bench for the apparel shop and store

  • Recognize and develops talented individuals for advancement and growth

  • Facilitates meetings and workshops that are well-planned, collaborative, educational and motivational

  • Administers performance appraisals, sets goals and conducts consistent touch-bases with direct reports

  • Expert on vendor, product knowledge, and trend as it relates to the apparel shop

LEADERSHIP

  • Builds and maintains productive partnerships

  • Communicates company, region and store goals consistently and effectively

  • Possesses strong assessment, decision-making, and communication skills

  • Executes Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Plans, while leading all visual planning within department including the display process

  • Maintains a productive relationship with home office partners

CUSTOMER CONNECTION

  • Cultivates an environment of genuine customer connection

  • Demonstrates extraordinary service, leading by example on the sales floor

  • Acts as a brand ambassador reflective of the company values and aesthetic

  • Understands multi-channel business - implements processes and utilizes tools to better service the customer

  • Engages with local community via events and social media platforms

AESTHETIC UNDERSTANDING & APPLICATION

  • Has a strong understanding of trend and style that is reflective of the brand

  • Contributes to presentation processes and upholds presentation standards

  • Supports apparel product placement and outfitting that is reflective of trend, reinforces brand messaging, and inspires the customer

  • Collaborates in the sharing of inspiration and idea generation

  • Connects brand aesthetic with store Social Media platforms
