The Global Technology & Operations group (GTO) is a diverse team of engineers, developers, business analysts, claims analysts and project managers with the freedom to create innovative and solutions to address core business challenges with MetLife. This role within Post Issue High Touch will perform duties related to annuity policy changes and process death claims on fixed and paired annuities.
Reviews requests for policy changes, gathers data from various computer systems, and organizes background data to support the change.
Determines whether requested changes meet company underwriting guidelines.
Follows procedures to process death claim transactions (adds/cancels, conversions, partial conversions, withdrawals, etc.).
Performs all related accounting transactions, including clearing money from suspense accounts.
Provides service to our financial advisors and beneficiary customers by answering questions related to death claims transactions and explains how specific change/exchange decisions were reached.
Corresponds with sales agents, external insurance carriers, and other departments regarding pending cases.
Consults with our advisory services group and vendors to help clarify claim disputes.
Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
2+ years of related work experience.
High School Diploma.
Working knowledge of insurance products and applicable policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Ability to think critically and strategically.
Knowledge of Annuity products is desired.
High level of organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a changing environment.
Strong attention to detail.
Exceptional customer service.
