Annual Year Adjunct Lecturer - Counseling Psychology

Salary Range:

Salary range depends on course load and number of courses taught at Santa Clara University. Starting range begins at $10,470 per 3-unit course.

Purpose:

The Department of Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit Catholic institution, seeks to hire Adjunct Lecturers to teach between six and nine courses in the Counseling Psychology Department. The candidate will need to teach the following courses in the coming year: Counseling Process &

Problems, Multicultural Counseling, and Clinical Assessment: Testing.

The appointment will include responsibilities linked to department and program area activities such as attendance at faculty meetings, speaking at information or new student orientation and participating in task forces.

Advanced degree (Ph.D. or DEd, degree preferred, M.A. considered) and professional teaching experience. Experience teaching at the university level is strongly preferred.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Teaching courses in Department of Counseling Psychology programs. Courses may be taught on the SCU main campus or at the newly opened satellite campus in East San Jose. SCU is on the quarter system.

  • Fulfilling all responsibilities associated with these courses, including

Conducting all assigned class meetings.

  • Assigning and evaluating written work, projects, and exams that align with course learning objectives.

  • Holding weekly office hours on campus.

  • Assigning and submitting student grades to the Office of the Registrar by the designated deadline.

  • Administering numerical and narrative course evaluations to students in all courses.
