Annual Giving Student Assistant

Job Summary:

Please note that this role is up to 20 hrs/week Mon-Fri between 8:30AM and 5PM. You will work with your manager to schedule around class times, but you must be available to work as regularly scheduled at least 2-3 days p/week. If you need to change/adjust your schedule please communicate effectively with your manager, in advance if possible.

The Annual Giving Student Assistant is an integral and valued member of the Annual Giving Team. Gain experience working alongside fundraising professionals by providing support with operations, administration and more! Learn about the role of data, communications, and higher education development. This role directly reports to the Program Assistant to Annual Giving.

This role will provide skill development in areas such as networking, project management, professional communication, and inventory maintenance. Some projects may include general office support, proof-reading and writing, event planning and orchestration, research, and working with fundraising databases . This position will also gain access to professional development opportunities including on-the-job training opportunities in Microsoft, Hilltop Shopper, asset management, and general office operations.

Full Job Description:

Key Responsibilities & Primary Duties

  • Data & Database Management and Support (Salesforce, Tableau, etc.)

  • Manage and organize reporting in Salesforce and Excel to ensure proper tracking of marketing data

  • Support direct and digital marketing as requested by Annual Giving team members

  • Provide support for event planning, creating materials, and coordination

  • Work with word procession (word), Excel, mail merges, professional emails, printing/copying

  • Copywriting and content editing

  • Bulk mailing management: printing, folding, collating, stuffing envelopes

  • Donor Stewardship and Outreach Communications: support management of outgoing and ingoing mail through email alias, building the donor pipeline though strengthening of stewardship efforts

  • Other duties as assigned by the AG Team

Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented and organized

  • Flexibility with scheduling

  • Comfortable speaking on the phone and maintaining relationships

  • Demonstrates regular attendance, punctuality, and time management skills

  • Self-motivated and proactive with minimal supervision, reliability

  • Discretion in dealing with confidential data

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and similar software preferred

  • Student with Federal Work Study strongly preferred
