Job Summary

The Ambystoma Genetic Stock Center is seeking a motivated individual who will assist us with husbandry of the world's largest collection of Ambystoma mexicanum. The primary job responsibility will be to perform husbandry duties in the care of this aquatic scecies. Other responsibilities will include pairing of animals, collection of embryos.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Knowledge of genetic principles is preferred.

The Diagnostic Technician works under the guidance of the Research Analyst and/or Diagnostic Laboratory Supervisor as a member of a team of 3 principal laboratory technicians that assist a large group of veterinary pathologists in doing animal necropsy examinations. Additional duties including maintaining a safe/effective work environment by cleaning and maintain the necropsy laboratory. The position is located at the Coldstream Research Campus off Newtown Pike. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Ability to safely operate well saw, striker saw, and band saw(meat saw.). Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience Necropsy experience with equine and ruminant reproductive and digestive systems is essential. Ability to work independently on tissue dissection tasks, as directed by pathology staff.
