Christensen Farms is seeking both entry level and experienced Animal Care Technicians Wean to Finish to join our full-time wean to finish team. We look forward to matching your abilities with our company's goals!

As an Animal Care Technician Wean to Finish with Christensen Farms, you'll be a member of one of the nation's top producing teams. Every day you'll be a part of providing quality pork to help feed a growing world and doing hands on work that makes a difference for the pig herd and your team.

If selected for this job, you'll be responsible for upholding our high biosecurity and animal welfare standards. As an Animal Care Technician Wean to Finish, you'll receive training to provide outstanding animal care and handling and maintain pig herd health and vaccination programs across multiple sites. In addition, you'll be responsible to care for growing pigs, maintain required wean to finish records, and assist in animal movements and feed ordering.


This Animal Care Technician Wean to Finish position starts at $15.35/hr. This Animal Care Technician Wean to Finish position requires site to site travel using your own vehicle. If you are selected for the position, you will need to submit a copy of a valid driver's license and current proof of auto insurance.

Although hours may vary, the typical work schedule for an Animal Care Technician Wean to Finish position is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am 3:30 pm and every other weekend. When you work the weekend, you will have a scheduled day off during the week.

Depending on the pig load schedule, you may be required to start earlier or stay later. This full-time job averages 43-45 hours a week.

Participates in the development of the Plan of Care. * Prepares social histories to augment existing service, or as a guide in determining or changing level of service, taking into consideration: * Family relationships * The meaning of illness to the client and his and her family * The cultural attitudes in relationship to illness * The meaning of home to the client * The ability of the client and his family to adjust to the client at home * The financial impact of illness upon the family * Counsels, supports, mobilizes and works with clients and families to ensure basic human needs are met. Assesses compliance with the medical treatment plan. * Refers clients and families to community agencies when appropriate. * Assesses, when appropriate, a family's financial situation, taking into consideration client's prognosis and medical needs. * Prepares clinical and progress notes. Reports to physician and the General Manager the client's response to treatment or change in condition. * Maintains appropriate records including frequency of visits and client's response. * Acts as a consultant and interprets social resources to staff and health services to social agencies. Communicates effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team. * Participates in discharge planning and inservice programs. * Maintains absolute confidentiality of all information pertaining to clients, families and employees. * Maintains a safe client environment and identifies and reports to the office any suspected vulnerable client abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation. * Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Branch Office. Education or Skills: * Light to Medium. Must be adaptable to a variety of environments and community settings. Must be able to drive or use public transportation in all types of weather. Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pound of force frequently, and greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work. Position Requirements: * <li>Masters Degree from a school of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. * Have at least one (1) year of social work experience in a health care setting or equivalent experience. Home care experience preferred. * Strong interpersonal communication and teaching skills. * Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently. * Knowledge of public health administration and demonstrated ability to work within a framework of social work consultation and supervision. * Knowledgeable of resources in the community to refer clients needing assistance. * Access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation in order to travel to multiple company business stops a day. * A valid driver's license and proof of car insurance when using a personal vehicle for company business. * Proof of negative mantoux or documentation of negative chest x-ray. * Current CPR certification recommended. * Have U.S. Citizenship or evidence of valid Alien Work Permit. * Discloses any conviction and criminal history records pertaining to any crime related to the provision of health services. A candidate who has been convicted of such crimes will not be hired. * Pass initial and ongoing background studies and screenings including but not limited to those of the Minnesota Department of Health and the Federal Office of the Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals and Entities.
