Assists the Clinic Operations Manager in all aspects of inventory management within the Clinic Operations Section of Animal Care and Control. Receives assistance from the Clinic Operations Manager when making decisions; resolves operational problems; performs technical research; reviews clinical needs and purchase requests.

Conducts scheduling of orders and deliveries, prepares requisitions and leads procurement of medical supplies with assistance from the Clinic Operations Manager as needed. Maintains all inventory supplies with emphasis on loss control and security, maintains inventory logs and material storage areas; ensures all inventory items are in-date of manufacturer expiration and performs reverse pharmacy for expired drugs; maintains integrity of perishable supplies; issues materials to designated personnel and maintains inventory through Inventory Management software; conducts regular assessment and reconciliation of inventory to avoid overstocking or shortage problems; regularly communicates with vendors as part of procurement processes. Compiles reports; assists in the writing of specifications for equipment and medical supplies used in the section and assists in bid tabulations; provides projections for contractual budget allocation requests.

Conducts assigned research and product comparisons to make recommendations to the Clinic Operations Manager. Will primarily work Monday ¿ Friday to align with supplier business hours and deliveries, however scheduling changes may occur, or be necessary to meet the needs of the Clinic Operations Section and/or the shelter.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of experience in a veterinary office, animal kennel, animal shelter, inventory control in retail/medical office, or similar facility assessing animal behavior, handling, and training OR one (1) year of experience in general/clerical office AND inventory controls.

PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE IN/WITH: Maintaining/ordering inventory/supplies in a high volume animal care facility; ordering and maintaining controlled substances in compliance with regulatory requirements; the storage and shipping of medical grade materials with specialized temperature requirements; veterinary medical equipment for writing order specifications; writing reports and maintaining logs/records; using MS Excel Word; navigating distributor ordering sites/account portals, and/or using inventory management programs.

Must be able to lift 75 pounds.

Will be required to complete a "Willingness to Work" Acknowledgement with application. Selected candidate must take the pre-exposure rabies treatment.
