The Department of Anesthesiology is currently seeking seven Anesthesiology Residents. The incumbent in this position provides pre-operative and post- operative clinical support under the medical direction or supervision of an Anesthesiologist using protocols developed by the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine and Pain Management.

Responsible for pre-operative assessment of the surgical patients and administer anesthesia under the direction of an anesthesiologist via inhalation of parenteral route. Responsible for the pre-operative and post-operative care of patients, maintain constant care of the patient by observing, interpreting, and recording blood pressure, EKG, oxygen saturation, end tidal CO2, anesthetic concentration, and temperature, as appropriate while watching for any significant physical changes or unfavorable condition in the patient. In consultation with the anesthesiologist, takes any necessary action as determined by these changes or conditions. Keeps the surgeon informed of significant changes or events occurring intra-operatively.

Minimum Qualifications (Essential Requirements):

  • M.D. diploma from an accredited medical school required.

  • Current valid FL Training license required.

  • BLS & ACLS certifications required.

  • Must be enrolled at the UM/JMH Anesthesiology residency program and be at least a (PGY) 2 resident.

VIEW JOBS 3/26/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-24T00:00 The purpose of the Walgreens Local Specialty Pharmacy and Nova Southeastern University PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program provides postgraduate training to pharmacists so that they achieve their professional goals, become a leader within the profession, provide compassionate care for the members of their community, and contribute to the Walgreens Company's advancements in health care. The program is primarily based at the Walgreens Local Specialty Pharmacy within the medical building associated with a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center. This unique setting serves HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis patients for their health care, education, and wellness needs. Pharmacists at this site work closely with an interdisciplinary healthcare team ser- vicing roughly 1,000 patients a month to optimize clinical outcomes. In addition, the resident will receive training at other nearby Walgreens Local Specialty Pharmacies that offer clinical services to oncology, transplant, and fertility patients. This residency is offered in partnership with Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy and will provide the resident the opportunity to develop academic skills by acting as a preceptor and educator and by conducting research. In addition, the resident will actively participate in education of Walgreens pharmacists, technicians, pharmacy students. Residents gain insight to medication management, medication reconciliation, and educational and behavioral counseling. Graduates are prepared for clinical and leadership positions in the community and specialty pharmacy setting. and the community at large The resident will participate in the provision of patient care services through the following: * Deliver disease state management programs in HIV/ AIDS, Hepatitis, infectious disease, oncology, transplant, fertility and other chronic health conditions * Provide medication therapy management * Conduct specialty medication monitoring and follow- up * Develop health and wellness programs * Administer immunizations in a variety of settings * Develop community outreach programs The resident will participate in the following activities that will strengthen practice management/ leadership and teaching skills: * Design and conduct practice-based research project * Present research findings at appropriate regional and national professional meetings * Execute marketing strategy for the promotion of patient care services * Participate in NSU's Innovative Teaching and Learning In Clinical Sciences and Pharmacy Basic Qualifications * Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a college or school of pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education * Ability to obtain pharmacist license within the state of residency within 90 days of the start of the residency program * Submission of residency application materials to Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS) * Individuals must participate in and adhere to the rules of the ASHP Resident Matching Program. * Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
