Geisinger is seeking an anesthesiologist with fellowship training in regional anesthesia who is proficient in advanced blocks to join our team!

Job Duties

Based out of Geisinger's flagship hospital, Geisinger Medical Center, this opportunity provides an excellent case and patient mix for a Regional Anesthesiologist who wishes to practice at a Level I Trauma Center with specialized units in vascular, cardiac, transplant, neuroscience, surgical critical care and more. Geisinger Medical Center has 31 operating rooms, is a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and its building is physically connected to the Geisinger Janet Weis Children's Hospital.

The successful candidate will become part of a robust, expanding regional anesthesia service and will provide care at multiple sites.

All Board Certified/Board Eligible anesthesiologists who have completed a regional anesthesia fellowship (or are currently training as a fellow) are welcome to apply. Note that while this position will have a region focus, it is not a regional-only role.

You will work hand and hand with the Anesthesiologists and Anesthetists to to ensure the patients meet the criteria for Outpatient Surgery. Your work will primarily be done through phone assessments but you will have occasional direct patient care. You must have an understanding of the patient's medications and what can and cannot be taken prior to surgery. Job Duties Provides primary nursing support to the physician and patient to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient's condition. Provides patient education, promotes an understanding of the condition and adheres with the treatment plan. The Registered Clinic Nurse, functions in the spirit of teamwork, is accountable for the delivery of care utilizing skills learned in the clinic.
