An Anesthesia Technician plays a crucial role in assisting the anesthesia team before, during, and after patient procedures. They are responsible for sterilizing, maintaining, packing, and resupplying anesthesia supplies and equipment in the operating room. Additionally, they respond to codes with anesthesia as needed, assist in patient transport and procedures, and collaborate closely with anesthesia and nursing staff.

Responsibilities:

• Support the anesthesia team: Prepare supplies, assist during procedures, and ensure a smooth workflow in the OR.

• Preoperative prep: Ensure anesthesia carts and machines are stocked and ready, check gas tanks, and pre-assemble complex monitoring equipment.

• Intraoperative support: Assist with patient positioning, provide disposable materials, help with intubation/extubation as needed, restock supplies, and monitor patient vitals.

• Postoperative cleaning and maintenance: Clean and disinfect equipment, manage anesthesia supplies, and run errands as needed.

• Maintain a sterile environment: Assist in setting up the OR, ensuring cleanliness and proper equipment function.

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification (or obtained within 6 months).

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

• Professional and positive demeanor.

• Ability to adapt to changes and demonstrate flexibility.

• Professional conduct and coping skills.

• Understanding of MCH's organizational values.
