We are offering an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our team as a per diem Anesthesia Tech working at Thayer Center for Health in Waterville. If you have a passion for service excellencewe want to hear from you!

Position Highlights:

The Anesthesia Technician assists the Anesthesia personnel in the preparation for and performance of direct patient care; cleans, disinfects, orders, and stocks supplies; assists in the maintenance and preparation of instruments, equipment and monitors; and is responsible for maintaining a clean, neat environment with adequate supplies.

Responsibilities:

Assists with transport of equipment to other parts of the Hospital.

Assists with preparation of equipment, solutions and calibration of equipment.

Demonstrates knowledge and practice of asepsis and BSI in all activities.

Assists in room turnover.

Maintains manufacturer's instructions for equipment relative to this area.

Maintains an inventory of equipment.

Cleans and restocks cabinets, carts and workroom.

Practices good communication skills with all staff, Physicians, patients and families.

Helps maintain a safe environment.

Orders drugs and supplies.

Reports equipment repair/maintenance needs to appropriate personnel.

Makes recommendations regarding changes in supplies, organization or procedures to enhance quality of care or efficiency following established protocol.

The ideal candidate will have:

High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) preferred.

1 year or more, prior clinical experience preferred

Anesthesia Technician Certification preferred.

Listed as active on the State of Maine CNA Registry preferred.

Basic analytical ability required to troubleshoot equipment.

The core hours for this position are 24 hours/wk12p-12a & 7p-7a e/o weekend Job Responsibilities: The emergency room technician functions under the supervision of the RN and assists other healthcare team members in performing patient care services related to total care of patients. Performs basic patient care activities within the scope of practice. Assists patients with meeting their emotional, physical and spiritual needs and reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions. Greets patients and visitors. Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls. Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested. Performs technical procedures as delegated by medical staff, including ECGs, splinting, and the specimen collection. Assists with keeping unit and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly. The ideal candidate will have: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant program or completion of an accredited EMT-Basic/Advanced training program required. Maine state licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required or as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic/Advanced required.
