What You'll Do:

  • Work with Product and QA to design and develop Android applications

  • Work with peers to find efficient solutions for architectural problems

  • Participate in code reviews and tech sessions

  • Improve test automation by writing unit tests

  • Implement CI/CD processes

  • Design and implement REST Services

  • Keep up to date with open-source Android ecosystem

  • Collaborate with our design team to bring creative ideas to the UI and craft a beautiful Android experience

What You'll Need:

  • Proficiency with Android with a minimum of 2 years professional Android experience

  • Strong understanding of Java and Android SDK

  • Experience with Kotlin

  • You've shipped one or more products to the Play Store (include links for review)

  • Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns and best practices

  • Experience with Git / Github

  • Hands on experience integrating android applications to backend services

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working with product managers, designers and QA

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with gRPC, Jetpack, MVVM (android architecture components), Lottie

  • Back-end experience with Ruby and PostGres

  • Startup experience

  • Agile methodology experience

  • Experience with Circle CI

  • Automation and testing

About the Role You work where design meets code – turning designs and wireframes into high quality reusable and reliable Java/Kotlin code. You are fluent in the Java and Android SDK and know the Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices. We want you to own everything Android and come up with solutions to each challenging problem independently. You will be required to identify, analyze, and correct issues such as bottlenecks, bugs, dependency problems, memory leaks and help maintain high stable code quality, organization, and automatization. As our Android Developer, you will work closely with the rest of our design, product, data, and mobile team to turn ideas into tangible user experiences. Responsibilities: * Android development throughout the entire lifecycle * Architect, design, implement new features, and improve existing * Work with peers to find efficient solutions for architectural problems * Lead code reviews and tech sessions * Improve test automation and write unit tests * Implement CI/CD process Skills & Qualifications: * 3+ years of software development experience in Java and object oriented design experience, including working knowledge of standard libraries and design patterns * Deep understanding of core software concepts, including networking, security, memory management, multi-threading, and application life-cycle management * Knowledge of latest mobile emerging technologies, architectures, and trends * Proficient in debugging and performance tuning * Understanding of web/cloud services, experience with REST APIs * Google Play Store, Amazon AppStore app development experience * Experience integrating custom and 3rd party API's * Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset Good to Have: * Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes * Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks * Experience with creating unit tests as well as working on various Testing frameworks * At least 1 non-trivial, mobile app in the Google Play store * A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience * Always eager to learn and familiarize with cutting-edge new technologies * Familiarity with cloud message APIs, push notifications, and continuous integration * Kotlin programing language * Excellent communication skills * Experience in both iOS and Android platform development * Hands-on experience supporting multiple versions of Android SDKs, screen resolutions and device types About GoodRx GoodRx is America's leading prescription price transparency platform.
