We're excited to be adding an Android Developer to our Access Egress Hardware Team. This is an engaging and challenging opportunity that plays an intricate role in shaping the development of our new product lines. We are looking for a passionate junior to mid-level developer with passion for developing mobile applications with emphasis on back-end programming to configure and manage hardware devices via newly developed proprietary Software Development Kits (SDKs).

This position will report directly to the Manager of Firmware and Software Firmware and sits onsite full-time New Haven, CT.

What you will be doing

  • Work closely with onshore and offshore software, firmware and hardware development teams.
  • Develop integration and test mobile applications against newly developed proprietary Software Development Kits (SDKs).
  • Verify the end-to-end capabilities of our product lines.

What we are looking for

  • BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field of study.
  • Must hold 3 years of mobile development work experience.
  • Proficiency with Jenkins, Maven, GitHub/GitLab or similar build and development tools.
  • Coding experience in Kotlin and/or Java.
  • Internation travel may be required periodically.

Preferred Skills:

  • Android application development certification from Google or similar.
  • Familiarity with iOS mobile development and/or multi-platform applications (i.e. Flutter).
  • Experience working in a Scrum team.
  • Experience with RESTful SDKs/APIs.
  • Experience with diverse Agile development techniques: Time Box Sprints, User Stories construct and estimation, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Continuous Delivery, Automated Testing.
  • Experience SQL databases and cloud platforms.
  • Track record of continued and recent education in newer technologies, including training, certifications, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc.
