Job Description:

Primary Purpose:

Responsible for generating a predetermined sales volume through a network of licensed agents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Accountable for making sales calls to targeted life and health agents

  • Actively utilize the Orion sales tracking system to validate and record sales calls, quotes, and recruited agents

  • Prospect and generate Small Group new business proposals

  • Evaluate agent performance and continually recruit agents as replacements or additions to agent organization

  • Identify potential agents from referrals, references or industry listings

  • Provide guidance to agents in developing selling strategies to obtain new and retain existing business

  • Provide guidance to agents regarding perceived problems with claims processing, underwriting, rate increases, and company decisions impacting an agent's clients

  • Provide timely communication to agents on product offerings, network changes, rate changes and plan designs

  • Work with District Manager to resolve unusually difficult issues such as specific rate increases which require research of competitive rates or clarification of client requirements to identify optimal recommendations

  • Incumbent will be required to obtain a Life/A&H license in state of residence and any other state that the incumbent conducts business, which should be completed within 60 days of receiving approval from the resident state; however, we recognize that in some states the licensing process may take longer

  • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience

  • 2+ years of sales related experience

VIEW JOBS 3/21/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-19T00:00 Summary The Laboratory Manager will serve as the interface for external equipment and supplies vendors; as such, this position is responsible for compiling orders, receiving, maintaining and inventorying all supplies and equipment for the research program of the College of Dental Medicine Illinois. This position will help oversee the day-to-day activities in the Dental Medicine Laboratories and assist with experimentation by multiple investigators, including students, faculty, and staff members. This person must maintain accurate laboratory records of all experiments. This position will also assist with additional academic and research needs such as keeping attendance when appropriate, assuring laboratory safety of faculty and students, and development of research protocols, as time permits. Mechanical testing and cell culture experimentation is performed with minimal supervision by the Director or other members of the lab. This position reports to the Assistant Dean for Dental Research. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Routinely performs chemical syntheses of biomaterials samples * Routinely performs mechanical and physical testing of materials * Routinely performs cell culture and bacterial culture experiments * Responsible for performing a wide variety of research procedures with minimal supervision * Designs and develops new methods and procedures for various research project goals * Maintains the cleanliness, repair, and organization of the CDMI labs * Record keeping and maintenance of all equipment * Maintenance of chemical control sheets (for chemical stored and used in the lab) * Ordering supplies: Request and receive quotes and process paper and paperless work associated with purchasing supplies and equipment for the labs * Keeping the laboratory appropriately stocked at all times * Trains others in laboratory safety procedures with minimal supervision * Assists with developing new protocols * Monitor access to the labs and takes on a supervisory role for others working in the lab * Instructs faculty, staff, and students in equipment usage and laboratory techniques * Assists faculty, staff, and students in laboratory activities and experiments as directed * Contributes to laboratory-based research and participates in other activities as assigned * Is responsible for abstract submissions and poster preparation to support faculty, staff, and students as well as their own abstract submissions and poster presentations * Analyzes data and prepares graphs and charts to support faculty, staff, and students as well as their own presentations * Assists with publications and presentations * Assists with literature searches * Designs novel devices and fixtures and develops CAD drawings as needed * Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities. Reasoning Ability High skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization or protocols exist.
