As a tech lead, you will work with a variety of talented Nike teammates and be a driving force for building solutions for Nike Technology. You will be working on development projects related to marketplace performance, supply chain, and merchandising.

Tech Lead Responsibilities:

  • Help lead a team of data engineers, architects, and platform engineers to build innovative and sustainable data products that demonstrate business value

  • Lead the design and build-out of reusable components, frameworks and libraries at scale to support analytics products

  • Lead the design and implementation of product features in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders

  • Anticipate, identify and solve issues concerning data management to improve data quality

  • Help clean, prepare and optimize data at scale for ingestion and consumption

  • Drive the implementation of new data management projects and refactoring of the current data architecture

  • Help implement complex automated workflows and routines using workflow scheduling tools

  • Lead the build-out of continuous integration, test-driven development and production deployment frameworks

  • Strengthen collaborative reviews of design, code, test plans and dataset implementation performed by other data engineers in support of maintaining data engineering standards

  • Analyze and profile data for the purpose of designing scalable solutions

  • Troubleshoot complex data issues and perform root cause analysis to proactively resolve product and operational issues

  • Mentor and develop data engineers in career development and adopting best practices

Qualifications

  • Advanced experience building cloud scalable, real time and high-performance data lake solutions leveraging AWS, EMR, S3, Hive & Spark

  • Experience with relational SQL

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python

  • Experience with source control tools such as GitHub and related dev process

  • Experience with workflow scheduling tools like Airflow

  • Understanding of micro service architecture

  • Excellent understanding of developing complex data solutions

  • Experience working on end-to-end solution design

  • Able to lead others in solving complex problems by taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions

  • Willing to learn new skills and technologies

  • Has a passion for data solutions

  • Excellent understanding of data structures and algorithms

  • Excellent understanding of solution and technical design

  • Has a excellent problem solving and analytical mindset

  • Able to influence and communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with team members and business stakeholders

  • Able to quickly pick up new programming languages, technologies, and frameworks

Description As a Manager, Insights & Analytics for Nike Direct Stores & Service you will be using data to help inform store leadership on the best path forward to better serve our Nike Direct consumers and their evolving needs. You will provide insights that will shape our strategy using a consumer-centric data set that will influence all business aspects including Product, Service, Environment and Membership. You will support a cross-functional team on initiatives that impact our global store fleet and help guide our partners on how to interpret and understand data-driven results. This position requires a high-energy, self-motivated individual with strong technical and analytical skills, high detail-orientation and excellent written and verbal communication. Candidates with financial, strategic planning or analytics experience in a retail environment preferred. The right individual will be on top of retail trends; understand the intricacies of a wholesale versus retail model and understand the opportunities that can drive the Nike brand. Key Responsibilities: * Collaborate with the Nike Direct Stores & Service team to identify opportunities where we can use data to make better decisions. * Build novel methods of analyzing data that could lead us to new insights or dispel myths about old ways of thinking. * Deliver presentations grounded in data that identify key trends, themes and offer recommendations on solutions to key questions. * Serve as the authority on analytics across several workstreams, providing a perspective on what data we have, what analytics can tell us about it, and how we can use it to optimize the best experience for our consumers and our business. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field. * Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience. * Advanced SQL skills required. Experience in querying big data environments preferred (e.g. Hadoop, Hive, Snowflake, Databricks). * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required. * Strong presentation skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including results packaging and development of management presentations. * Experience synthesizing and packaging complex analyses and delivering results to non-technical audiences including senior leadership teams. * Shown ability to sift through data, identify critical information, analyze, develop hypotheses and make recommendations required. * Ability to develop strong partnerships across a multi-layered organization required. * Excellent task management capabilities to develop multiple tracks of work and requirements, appropriately prioritizing projects based on business impact and critical timelines. * Experience in developing an understanding of customers, competitors, and retail trends; knowledge of sports apparel and footwear market preferred.
