Position Summary

  • Business Partnering and Process: Partners with cross-functional teams to develop analytical tools and processes for a business area or category.

  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments

  • Data Analysis: Manages the development of business analytics to address complex business problems and support data-driven decision making; Makes strategic recommendations to Analytics leadership based on data analysis; Supports more experienced team members with the development of the data analysis strategy; participates in strategy development conversations.

  • Data Visualization and Reporting: Manages the implementation of new dashboards and data visualization tools; Collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve existing data visualization tools and platforms.

  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity

  • Model Development: Manages the development of custom data models for multiple projects; Works with Advanced Analytics and cross-functional teams to develop model criteria and define desired outcomes for a business area, category or prototype.

  • People Development: Builds and leads a team to execute on business area or category objectives; Coaches team members and provides feedback to enhance skills, knowledge and work performance; Has performance and career development conversations; Maintains team motivation and engagement; Mentors Analytics Specialists.

  • Process Management: Manages workflow and processes across multiple projects to drive measurable improvements in work quality/outcomes.

  • Project Scope: Owns multiple projects end-to-end for a business area, category or prototype; Collaborates with Analytics Experts to develop analytical plans that map to intended business outcomes.

  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates

Position Description

The Manager/SeniorManager, Category Analytics is responsible for providing strategic and analytic support for the Home vertical. Your ultimate goal is to use data and analyses to uncover problems and inform critical business decisions

Challenges you'll be tackling:

This Individual will be tacking problems in the areas of profitability, assortment, pricing, and Supply chain (among others) as it relates to the categories.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide business intelligence and reporting in the areas of retail, marketing and customer analytics. Specifically:

o Evaluate and define metrics and frameworks

o Understand root causes of changes in metrics and communicate insights effectively

o Identify levers to move key metrics

o Build and automate dashboards and reports

  • Conduct in depth research and provide quantitative analysis to evaluate new projects and business opportunities

  • Collabroate with category owners and leaders to uncover challenges and turn them into data driven solutions

  • Work with the larger data science and core analytics team to inform and develop solutions to improve internal workflows and tooling

  • Mentor and train category specialists and managers to use data and tools to improve their business performance

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in math, analytics, statistics, business or related field or equivalent experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience in relevant area
