You will be based in Milan and will be part of McKinsey Analytics, serving clients from the region but also globally.

You will work through our clients' entire data ecosystem to understand what's available, what's missing - and where to find and collect that information.
This includes applying data science methods to improve and optimize our clients' performance needs, capture meaningful insights from data and turn them into competitive advantages.
In addition, you will drive the creation of statistical models to solve specific operational problems, which may include predicting equipment failure to do proactive maintenance for wind turbines, determining how to use machine learning to predict consumer behaviour, etc. In solving these problems, you will have access to proprietary feature engineering AI and teams of world-leading experts in your domain.
You will be in the room, often with the senior management, working side by side with talented data scientists from leading client organizations both on technical issues and on making the change happen. Lastly, you will mentor and guide your team colleagues and you will provide information and knowledge with them.
MBA or MS in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Applied Math, Quantitative social sciences or related field
8+ years of technical experience in predictive analytics, machine learning, optimization
2+ years of experiences from client facing position is a plus
Strong understanding and background applying complex algorithms and logic to process data
Proven experience extracting, importing, profiling, cleaning, standardization, transforming, converting, warehousing, archiving, and validating large complex sets of data
Ability to apply and advise on state-of-the-art advanced analytic and quantitative tools and modeling techniques in order to derive business insights, solve complex business problems and improve decisions
Fluent in a number of the following technologies : R, Python, Julia, SQL, Spark, Hadoop, Tensorflow, Amazon AWS
Strong communication skills, especially around breaking down complex structures into digestible and relevant points for a diverse set of clients and colleagues, at all levels
Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
Ability to influence and work in teams
Strong desire to learn and develop, within a dynamic, self-led organization
Willingness to travel and work also on international projects
Fluency in English and Italian
