The Department of Chemistry at the University of Vermont (UVM) invites applications for a full-time Lecturer, to start in the fall semester of 2020. We seek a creative, professional chemist with a passion for teaching and demonstrated effectiveness in communicating science in the classroom.
Familiarity with new pedagogy and technology is desirable. Applicants will be expected to teach several large lecture classes in General Chemistry to first-year students and to develop smaller elective courses in a specific sub-area of chemistry. Candidates with backgrounds in environmental chemistry or biochemistry are of particular interest, but exceptional candidates in any area of chemistry will be considered. A Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field is expected.UVMrecently completed the construction of a $104 millionSTEMcomplex, with new teaching and research facilities as well as new offices and lecture halls.
