Analytical Chemist

The Analytical Chemist role reports to the Central Laboratory Manager and works within the Corporate Quality Assurance department at the Hayward, CA Central Laboratory. This position is responsible for method development and overseeing all analytical instrumentation including management of all calibration records, quality check documentation and instrument preventative maintenance. The chemist role will function as the primary operator of lab instrumentation.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Development of new methodology on analytical equipment for the as the need arises to expand on the laboratories testing capabilities. Method development will have heavy focus on GCMS, HPLC, Flame Atomic Absorption, bench top meters and possibly LC-MS/MS.Responsible for managing water quality testing schedule and results for all production facilities within Enterprise. These results will be organized, trended and reported to drive Quality Assurance decisions at the production facilities.Perform internal calibrations, quality control checks, complete appropriate documentation and perform repairs of laboratory instruments.Leadership role for LIMS selection, integration and effective deploymentSupport production facilities and lead root cause analysis investigations for troubleshooting purposes including collection, analysis and summarization process quality information and trends.

MINIMUM QUALITIFICATIONS:

Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or appropriate equivalent from an accredited university.Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in an analytical laboratory, preferably in an ISO 17025 laboratory.Must have working knowledge of analytical instrumentation with an emphasis on, GCMS, GC-FID, HPLC, and Flame Atomic Absorption.
