Partners Healthcare System (PHS) is innovating and transforming the delivery of health care, research and discovery through significant investments in Enterprise Data and Digital Health capabilities. The PHS Board and System-Wide Executive Leadership Team have made a multi-year, substantial investment in building out core digital and data capabilities to support the achievement of Partners' mission and to drive growth and innovation in inpatient, ambulatory, and digital care. We are at the start of this journey and are looking for talented individuals to join our team in transforming healthcare.
The outcomes of this data and digital health strategy include improved patient care, quality of care, patient engagement, provider experience, and system efficiency. To achieve these goals, data and analytics teams from across Partners are working together to build a system-wide data ecosystem leveraging the latest innovations in data and analytic capabilities. The Partners Data and Analytics Organization is working closely with Research Analytics, Clinical Data Science, and Information Systems to build the data ecosystem by leveraging current assets and building new integrated solutions to provide a holistic set of industry-leading data and analytic capabilities including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and real-time insights integrated into the clinical and operational workflow.
We seek employees who bring passion, are highly collaborative, and thrive in a dynamic, diverse, and inclusive team environment. We work in a highly agile environment with a focus on quality and achieving real impact with our work. Finally, we seek employees who embrace and live our core values of respect, recognition, communication, commitment, trust, innovation, and service.
Critical for the Data and Analytics Organization (DAO) to generate positive value from data and analytic investments is to have a team of Analytic Translators with the ability to 1) understand the business, strategy, and their most pressing business questions; 2) translate the deep business knowledge into high level data and analytic product requirements to support the business in achieving their objectives; 3) tell the stakeholder-resonating story on how the data and analytic products will generate positive value for the business; and 4) work closely with the business to operationalize data and analytic products to achieve real value through better decisions and improved actions
1.Understanding the business needs requires an Analytic Translator to be a stakeholder thought partner with deep knowledge of clinical and business operations, the key strategic objectives of our stakeholders, and what stakeholders need to achieve those strategic objectives. The Analytic Translator should be seen by the stakeholder as an extension of their team and brought in for strategic and operational conversations.
2.Analytic Translators take that knowledge and translate it into an actionable data and analytic roadmap that articulates the high-level requirements of easy to use data and analytic products which are embedded into the clinical and operational workflow.
3.Analytic Translators then connect the stakeholder with the technical teams through storytelling: artfully weaving together a technical data and analytic product with business operations and how it will lead to better decisions, actions, and clinical / patient outcomes.
4.Data and analytics deliver no value unless used by the business. Analytic translators will work closely with the business before a product is developed to ensure there is a path to operationalize the data and analytic product and inject the insights into the workflow. This critical step is required to achieve the value from the work
Through this engagement model, Analytic Translators drive an aligned data and analytic roadmap with clear prioritization for each part of the business and across all aspects of the business.
Analytic Translator reports to the DAO Executive Director Analytics Translation and PeC Reporting. S/he will work with stakeholders across the dimensions of Patient Experience and the Digital Health Team to develop the vision and roadmap. The Analytic Translator will collaborate across the entire DAO and play a key role in developing products in an agile method.
Success in the role will be measured by articulating and realizing end business value (e.g., revenue, cost, patient outcomes, physician satisfaction, etc.) and articulating, meeting / exceeding agreed upon DAO operational metrics closely tied to excellence in delivery.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
o Being the liaison between priority stakeholders and the DAO, bridging the gap between the technical team and the business (including managing the matrix of service line / department and institution)
o Deeply understanding business needs of prioritized stakeholders
o Developing and ensuring alignment on short-term delivery goals and long-term data and analytic roadmaps with clear articulation of expected value and why the work is prioritized
o Being the Product Manager for Data and Analytic Agile teams in the future
o Collaborating with stakeholders to articulate the quantified story of how data and analytic initiatives have generated value for stakeholders on a quarterly basis
o Ensuring data and analytic products are operationalized and continue to deliver value
o Telling the story of how data and analytics is positively impacting stakeholders
Stand-up and drive an efficient process to prioritize business problems to focus data and analytic resources on to give direction on DAO large initiatives / epics / areas of focus
Create, manage, and share an overall DAO scorecard both internally and externally which articulates the value of the work we do
Project management skills is a must. Translators should be able to direct an analytics initiative from ideation through production and adoption and understand the life cycle of an analytics initiative and the common pitfalls
Understanding of the current and future data and analytic infrastructure and architecture to inform future work required to meet business objectives
Working knowledge of the types of models are available (e.g., deep learning vs. logistic regression) and to what business problems they can be applied. Translators must also be able to interpret model results and identify potential model errors, such as overfitting
Use the Partners HealthCare values to govern decisions, actions and behaviors.
