The Access and Consumerism Support Analyst role is centered on delivering exceptional customer service and technical support for our suite of Access and Consumer Strategy platforms. Responsibilities encompass implementation, maintenance, and support, with a focus on assisting end users and ensuring optimal platform performance through interval maintenance. Additionally, this role plays a key part in building and maintaining access tools to enhance patient and consumer access and experience.

Responsibilities

Support of Digital Access Tools

  • Provides exceptional internal customer support to all functional teams for digital suite of tools.

  • Supports Access and Consumerism Business Partners during problem solving and brainstorming sessions providing technical and data insight to help inform project design and operationalization.

  • Performs platform maintenance tasks to keep platforms up to date and performing optimally for end users.

  • Executes platform testing to support project and new use case evaluation.

  • Participates in cross functional meetings supporting new department and clinic builds and executives technical builds needed to meeting project needs.

  • Serves as a translator between the Access and Consumerism and IT teams, connecting technical capabilities across platforms to support achievement of optimal outcomes.

  • Collaborates with IT and analytics to report key metrics for digital access tools.

  • Audits operational use of the digital access tool suite to ensure compliance with all legal and operational requirements.

  • Actively engages in consistent industry research as a lifelong learner, evaluating opportunities to optimize current platforms and grow digital access tool suite to meet needs of our consumers.

Support and Operationalize of Ambulatory Template and Visit Scheduling Tools

  • Analyze visit type usage across ambulatory enterprise to ensure clinic teams have access and are utilizing appropriate visit types and tools to maximize consumer access.

  • Maintains standard list of visit types across the ambulatory enterprise to support digital tool expansion and consumer access.

  • Participates in template build brainstorming and problem solving, providing build recommendations to achieve intended outcomes and executes template builds as directed.

  • Audits practice templates for compliance with template requirements and evaluates consumer accessibility as compared to benchmarks.

  • Supports new provider template build to ensure alignment with template recommendations to support the success of the provider and optimal access for patients.

  • Collaborates with IT and analytics teams to obtain key data to support ambulatory template tools.

  • Develops and maintains understanding of the key technical components of access strategies within third party digital tools and Epic to support department and enterprise access goals.

  • Leverages Epic resources to research access tools and evaluate opportunities to optimize build to support achievement of department and enterprise goals.

  • Engages in industry research to evaluate new and/or unique tools and design efforts to support consumer access and clinic efficiencies.

Strategic and Departmental Support

  • Develops and fosters collaborative relationships with key organizational teams including IT, Marketing/Communications, Revenue Cycle, and Clinical Informatics to ensure the success of system initiatives.

  • Collaborates with analytics to provide data to director and project teams to support data driven decisioning.

  • Research and understand the health care environment to keep the team informed of possible effects to the organization.

  • Review departmental activities and make recommendations for process improvements.

  • Actively engages in departmental meetings by providing status updates, offering solution-oriented commentary to brainstorming or process design sessions, and supports co-team member success.

  • Engages in department annual planning and goal setting sessions to support enterprise success in a fast-changing healthcare technology industry.

  • Contributes positively to a culture of innovation and supports functional teams with change management.

  • Stays engaged and aware of what is happening in organization by attending department meetings, reading emails, and regularly checking information on the organization's intranet site.

  • Assist with other business development and strategy projects and assignments as directed.

Basic UPH Performance Criteria

  • Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.

  • Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.

  • Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.

  • Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.

  • Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.

  • Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare discipline, business administration, or related discipline.

Experience

  • One to two years' work experience in health care setting or relevant healthcare IT role.

License(s)/Certification(s)

  • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills and ability to interact effectively with internal/external customers.

  • Basic computer knowledge using e-mail, SharePoint, and web browsers, and Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with electronic health record functionality.

  • Strong self-motivation and performance improvement skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

Other

  • Ability to travel to assigned regions, other UPH or community facilities. May drive a UPH vehicle, rental or own vehicle.

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary to meet business needs of the department.

  • Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
