Summary

Spire is seeking a Treasury Credit Analyst to work in the St. Louis, Missouri operation. The position will be responsible for carrying out a portion of the Credit Policy to mainly support the Spire Marketing non-utility subsidiary of Spire, which includes all tasks in the daily preparation of credit management reports and related work, as well as supporting other Spire subsidiaries which require credit management assistance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review credit risk primarily for commercial, industrial and wholesale customers and trading partners of storage, transport, and utility subsidiaries as well as non-regulated subsidiaries of Spire Inc.

  • Generate, review, and distribute credit reports of various Spire subsidiaries.

  • Allocate Exposure for parent unsecured credit limits among subsidiaries to ensure minimal Above Credit Limit Violations on counterparty level.

  • Allocate Liquidity Guaranty Amounts Using Current Liquidity Breakdown File & Spire Marketing Credit Report to Ensure Maximum Spire Parental Guaranty's Utilized.

  • Credit-worthiness evaluations of all existing known counterparties including current rating agency ratings, if any, for credit limits expiring on a monthly basis.

  • Contact select counterparties to request their latest financial statements for evaluation.

  • Update Exposure Credit Lines for Credit Limit Types for new amounts and/or dates as result of monthly credit evaluations.

  • Spire Missouri Current Hedge Sensitivity Scenario.

  • All Reporting to Credit Insurers for Spire Marketing Insured Entities.

  • Update Rating Agency Ratings on an Annual Basis Using Info from Most Recent Credit Evaluation.

  • Update Probability of Default on an Annual Basis using Most Recent Credit Evaluation.

  • Credit trade receivables insurance counterparty selection, contract negotiations, review and meetings with Spire Marketing about selected retail counterparties.

  • DTCC Annual End-User Clearing Exception.

  • GMEI Utility Annual Certification Maintenance for various Spire entities.

  • Credit application and reference requests.

  • Update credit for all Spire Marketing counterparties on ICE.

  • Support Director, Credit and Collections on special projects.

  • Perform credit evaluation refreshes or new requests concerning vendors as well as buyers regarding potential new business.

  • Credit trade receivables insurance quotes, negotiations, additions, subtractions, and tracking.

  • Update Exposure Credit Lines for Credit Insurance Limit Type for new amounts and/or dates due to insurance additions/cancellations.

  • Establish credit limits for all individual customers and trading partners.

  • Manage the risk to the company through analysis of customer financial and business positions.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Finance, Business, Accounting or related field.

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • Three years of similar experience, preferably in energy industry.

  • Financial statement analysis, ratio analysis and other methods of evaluating credit risk for individual companies or a portfolio.

  • Credit evaluation and reporting and credit analysis and credit risk management.

  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Excel.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Oracle, SAP, Endur and/or other Energy Trading Risk Management system experience is preferred.

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Normal Work Environment - Work is normally performed in a shared office environment.

  • Hybrid work schedule (Three days in the office, Two days remote).

  • Typically, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the flexibility to work additional hours as required depending on the workload and required deadlines.

  • No travel required.
